How have any of you folks been doing in regards to your covid boosters?

Update:
I did get the booster earlier this month.  Many people around me were very getting sick (Omicron I would guess).
It was a hard decision, but that's what I did.

HI  :)

I'm glad I got boosted because I am more aware of people suffering from Omicron than I've been aware of any of the earlier variants.

I had a shingles shot today. In the UK you get offered one once you hit 70.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Never do tomorrow what you can put off till the day after tomorrow!

Confused

MarieB,

I don't think there is any right or wrong on whether you get a shot or what path you take.  You take the one you are most comfortable with.  No one has all the answers and everyone reacts differently.  You just get information and make your decision and I hope you ha e a very easy time with the booster!

Had Moderna for all three. Had a delayed flare about two weeks after the second shot which my rheumatologist told me was occurring in some people with AIs. The booster knocked me for a loop. I did not feel ill except for the first couple of days but it took about two weeks for the fatigue, which was oppressive, to subside.

I guess we all made it through another Christmas. Every where we have to go (store for food, pharmacy, doctor visits) we wear masks and gloves. Those are the only places we risk, but we haven't had any vaccines. The info out there is enough to confuse all of us. Now war talk. I don't watch much news.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I never got the vaccine.  I had Omicron and at this point do not want to get it.   I know way too many people at this point who have gotten it and really regret it.   I am going to take my chances on the natural immunity and maybe if a vaccine comes out that works long term then I will consider it.  I am not anti-vax.

No vaccines for my husband or myself. We now have antibodies and were never "sick."

Hubby has some lingering fatigue but never had other symptoms.

We don't wear masks either unless forced.

(We did at first)

PS .. We care for others, but do not believe the masks are effective for viruses.

We are both 71.

After 2 years of Covid being around my whole family and I are without being vaccinated. No mask either...Christmas and Thanksgiving full maskless house of fun.

If we have had Covid...we don't know about it. My husband is a recent heart attack survivor (2020) has 4 stents has high BP... I have sjogrens and RA. I have 90 year old father in law and he's diabetic.

I hope I live long enough to see what is in these shots...the FDA will release the info then.

Stay healthy everyone....spring is coming

I have had the vaccine and have been boostered.  It was easy and it was such a relief.  I still wear a mask because I don?t even want a light case of it!😱😱😱😱

I know of so many people who have died because they refused to get the vaccine or take it seriously.  Very sad because they did not die easily.  For some it took weeks and months😱.  I think much of this would have been prevented if they had just took a free vaccine!

There is terrible misinformation regarding vaccines but the vast majority is coming from antivaxers.

Sadly, even on this knowledgeable site I have read obviously incorrect information regarding the vaccines.  This shouldn?t be so political.  Save yourself, your family, friends, neighbors.  I encourage everyone to please get vaccinated.  Too many people have suffered and died.

Please don?t answer this or bombard me with any false information regarding how dangerous vaccines are.  I know I?ll never reach some of you and that makes me sad.

If you don?t agree with me - just move on and ignore me, please.

Stay safe and stay well.  Please get vaccinated.

Completely agree Kathy57. Also fully vaccinated and boosted. Flu symptoms for a day each time but well worth it .

Had the J&J but did not get the booster as I was ill and was concerned about what was going on with me. Ended up being very ill. I have done a ton of research and am comfortable with my decision at this point. I have 5 autoimmune diseases and these vaccinations seems to encourage our bodies to make autoimmune issues. I figure my body makes enough on its own.

I am watching all the new vaccinations that are coming out and know that there will be some that have less side effects in the future and probably sooner than later. I should get my antibodies checked but always forget to ask when I am at the doctor. Anybody know if insurance pays for this and how much it costs???? meirish

susanep

Irish I wish I knew if insurance helps pay to find out about your antibodies, but I don't know. I hope you do find out something.

Absolutely they pay for it. It's a simple blood test. Why get boosters if you have antibodies?
