Congratulations Everyone!!! for still being smoke free. I quit in December of 2004. It really does get so much better. I still find myself now eating something, and thinking , I dont remember it tasting this good before. On the down side ,yes , I have gained weight, but some of that has also been due to sjogrens. I have never regretted quitting, and I thought I would never be able to.

Terrific Mim!  So glad you updated us.  I wanted to ask a couple weeks ago, but with you being so sick with that bad leg and all, I was a little afraid.  Stressful times are the hardest to hang in there with.

You are a marvel dear girl.  So proud of you.  Keep on "Stinkin Purty".

Hugs, Pooh

Awwww Mim,....you made me cry.  I'm so very proud of you.  I know the stress of feeling bad probably does make it hard as Pooh says.  But you are made out of really strong stuff.  Keep up the good work.

Mim,
WE"RE counting on you to keep up the good work.  My quit date was 11/13/89 and still remember how hard it was.
You're a success and will keep on being a success.  Or.........we might run ya' out of town.  ;D

I quit 1/1/1984.  I watched my father die of cancer caused by 62 years of smoking.  Today I can't even stand to be in the same room with a smoker....I think I must be allergic now.  My teenaged son came home one night reeking of smoke....boy did he get more than he bargained for.....his proverbial 'sides' are all chewn up.....hasn't done it again since.

My very hearty ATTA BOYS to everyone who even atempts to quit.  It's a tough road but after almost 24 years I can say it was absolutely worth it.

Keep up the good work!

To all of you that have given up and continue to stink purty I think you are all the greatest achievers in the world!!!!!

I have just finished a course to become a smoking cessation facilitator and knowing what i know about smoking you guys have done a great job and must have very strong wills. You set a gerat example to those out there struggling with the addiction.
