Hey Bernice, Don't tell this ole' weather forecaster its not snowing at your house. This facy radar stuff says its down your way. Its just beginning here and the cardinals are feeding and its almost dark...so we in for a doozy!!!!

If it doesn't now down your way, Bucky and I will ship your some!!!!   Right Bucky? Now how many inches of liquid snow will fit in a quart jar?? We due 5-8"...what about you Bucky?

It has even snowed in Chattanooga today!  We have several inches, and it's still coming down, but it's supposed to change over to freezing rain.  Hope we keep our power.  I know some of you hate snow, but it's a rare treat here.  So pretty!

Well now Ohiocat, not so sure about that, this a mighty big storm moving through and the way I see it is, if it gets bad enough to snow this much  here then most of America must be, gotta be covered too!

Hmmmm, looks like you TN gals are in for a white January evening!!  Here in Central IL, all is calm . . no snow.     You know ya'all have read thru the months about all our rain, ice and snow here in the Midwest and parts North.  Well, just so ya'all don't feel left out, you get to "share the wealth" and get the treat of snow.  Enjoy!!  Now, we certainly don't want any of you to lose power - been there, done that - not fun.  Do be careful if it starts to ice up - we don't want to read any posts about broken bones!!  Stay home, make a cup of hot chocolate, get the camera out and enjoy your winter wonderland.

It's been so long since I've seen snow that when I looked outside and was able to see clearly across the street at 10:50 p.m. I was amazed wondering "my it sure is bright outside, even in the sky, is this how it always is with snow", BUT, then I go online and see an article about the unusual full moon tonight being closer and brighter than normal so I guess more than snow for this area is unusually happening around here tonight!

There does not seem to be not one car or person moving on the outside!

I'm anxious to hear about the snow our southern states members received.  How's it look in daylight?  How much did you end up getting?  Ahhh, to be a kid again and run outside and build a snowman, have snowball fights, to make a snow fort, go sledding, or make a snow angel.    

Enjoy your late January treat of snow - it won't last long.

I used to love to go sledding and make snow angels too Bucky....but now if I got down on the ground to make an angel...I don't know if I could get back up! lol

Me either Lynnmarie!  With the ton of clothes I have to wear just to go outside, and I'd wind up crawling back to my place.  But darn it, I'd be crawling with pride though!!!!

At my house there were 3 - 4 inches, followed by some icing, so of course we lost power.   (I'm glad to report that it was restored this afternoon!)  I am still enjoying the beauty of it.  We expect more ice tonight.

Awww shucks, sorry you lost power.  Do you lose power very much where you live?  We tend to lose power quite often with all the weather systems we have here - so , we kinda expect it.  We have a well for water - any time they predict bad weather I draw up a bunch of water to have for drinking, brushing teeth, etc. when the power goes out.  Did you and hubby have a cozy candlelight evening??  Do you have a fireplace?  I know, questions, questions, questions.   

Be careful on the ice - stay home if possible.  Be prepared for round two tonight.

Us West Virginians just rec'd some white stuff also. We were not suppose to get any. I just drove about 30 miles in it and it is nasty. About 6-7 accidents along the way. Only time I slid was after I got off the interstate. Scared me to death. By the time I got home I was shaking so bad I could hardly walk. I don't like anything about winter!!
I fixed my husband and I a cup of hot tea and I couldn't even carry it I was shaking so bad. I am in for the evening
Under my blanket and with the fireplace going.

Hi Harlin and everyone,
Yep, we weren't suppose to get any of this mess either, but someone dumped 4 inches of snow all over our place.

About the only kind thing I can say about it is.............................it's a beautiful sight, but BRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! it is COLD.   It acutally got up to 17 degrees today.   

I'll stay in where it's warm and keep both of our dogs laying on my feet.   They sure are nice and warm.
