Well I have been in ALL day, the last thing I need is to fall! I am now wondering what kind of shoes I can put on tomorrow for church, ALL my boots have really high heels, except suede! I don't have anything for snow.

Our church will have service as  usual, but lei's just see how many come out, not many I think! Shoot if I didn't have to be there I wouldn't. Most of the main streets are open, but side streets? Forget about it, there is not enough equipment  to clean them, my husband said he saw them(City workers) out with something small you could rent from Lowes, he thought this was so funny! Well you have to keep in mind we don't get enough snow to really invest alot, they normally borrow from other cities, but this snow storm has covered most of TN. so every city needs their own. Shoot the lst time we got this much (4 inches or less) the city ran out of salt and was declaring a state of emergency!

The snow is pretty, BUT it does not need to stick around too much past tomorrow, I got things to do

Daytime? O.K but we are over it already, we've seen it and can say we had some, small children have at last seen snow, now we want our norm back!

Bucky

Bernice - awww, you have snow for one little ole day and you want it to go away already??   :D  Try having it on and off for five months of the year!!  In regards to what kind of shoes you will wear to church tomorrow - wear the flattest ones you've got and put plastic bags around your feet to keep them dry.  Change your shoes once you get to church.

Be careful out there - especially if the temperature drops tonight, it will be icy in the morning.

Harlin & Pooh - be careful too!!  Did they forcast any snow or did you just wake up to a white Saturday this morning with no warning?  Driving in snow and ice is definitely not fun - scares me every time and I've grown up my whole life in snow country.

Bernice

Bucky, isn't that dangerous, too slippery? Am I misunderstanging something w/ the plastic bag?

Bucky

Bernice - we've done it with plastic bags before when it wasn't snowing when we left in the morning and was snowing on the way home.  I've seen people do it lots of times.  Now, if it is icy - I'm not sure about that - but with just snow, it's fine.

As with all posts - this is just a suggestion, or comment that I have tried and used before . . . . . use your own judgement if this is something you want to try.

Earlier today on MSN.com there was a picture of someone with plastic bags on their feet when they got caught in the snow.  I don't know if the picture is still there or not.

Be careful.

No Bucky, I didn't just wake up with the snow.  When we went to bed the night before our local weatherman said it was making a right turn out into the Atlantic.  Uh Huh!  Along around noon it started and before it was finished we got around 5 inches.

We're use to snow, but nothing like you get.  I have no patience for these drivers from out of state that drive like snails.  I don't mean to speed in this mess, but come on.  They cause more problems than they avoid.

It's after midnight here and the plow just went up the road and back.  I guess we'll have a clear road in the morning.  So glad I don't have to go out anywhere.  Should go to church, but I'm sure the Man Up Stairs will forgive me if I don't.

Take care all of you who are in this frozen mess.  Be careful, we want to talk to you, not about you later.  ;D

Hugs, Pooh

Bernice

Thanks Bucky, I'm sure it's icy out so I'm gonna pass on that suggestion cuz as I said I really do have a great dread of falling and Oh someone stepping on my ingrown toenails! But thanks anyway! Never thought of that, but I think I'm gonna sport a pair of tennis shoes.

Poochie, I spent many years in places where I had to get around in knee deep snow, BUT now? Well guess Ihave been home too long, have too much respect for these hills. Believe you me it's a world of a difference driving on flat land than a hill that you may or may not get up or may slid down faster than the car in front of you is moving, then add a sharp curve and nervous people who only see snow every 5-6 years! You better think twice before you touch that gas peddle or brakes!  :o ;D Give me flat or straight land and I too am unstopable.  ;)

Bernice

When I used to live on upper east coast we used to have to put winterized tires and/ or those chains on car, do you guys still use the chains or has technology improved where they are not still needed?

when I woke up there was no snow and no forcast of snow. When I left home it was flurrying. By the time I got to Morgantown 30 miles away no snow. I was there about 2 hours and oh my gosh. Did it ever snow. I don't want to do that again. The worse snow I have ever been in. But "I did it" as my granddaughter would say. I was shaking so bad when I got home i didn't know if my knees would hold me up. To scarry for me.

My husband drove to church this morning. I've had enough!! Come on spring!! :o

Burnice you need some yak traks from QVC. I hear they work wonders.

Patze

Thankfully we only got about four inches here, not so bad this time (kept the old fingers crossed last night).

You had me going there! I looked up yaktracks on JVC and was trying for ages to figure out how they fit the tyres! Duh! didn't realize they were for over shoes  ;D

Be safe everyone - we don't have any of the white stuff just now, and I hope it stays that way.

you had me laughing hysterically! ;D ;D
They are on QVC not JVC. They are especially great for the old folks. Do you get QVC? They have a web site.
I do most of my Xmas shopping on QVC can't hardly do the store thing.

Sorry, foggy brain, yes, I meant QVC. My son tells me we do have a site, but I didn't bother looking, once I saw them.

Glad you had a giggle ;D.

Guess what???  Mother Nature is taking aim once again on U.S. soil.  There are warnings out for tomorrow night into Friday.  Some states will get heavy amounts of rain, others snow.  Yippee Zippy DoDa!!   ::)  For my area, they are talking 3-5 inches of snow.

I'm heading to the grocery store first thing in the morning to get milk and bread.

Only 6-1/2 weeks till Spring . . . . it can't come soon enough!!   ;D  At least we're on the downhill side of winter.  Yay!!

Be safe.

Stay warm {if you can, I can't seem to}, harlin

Hello all you snowcovered people!!   :o  Here at my place in IL we have around 9" - it's drifted, so it's hard to tell the exact amount.

Yesterday and today the kids had school off.  Woohoo!  That makes the third snow day this school year.

Oh, and by the way . . . not only do we have snow, but this morning at 4 a.m. there was a 3.8 earthquake northwest of Chicago!!   :o  Now, I have felt an earthquake here in IL before, but this time I didn't feel it.  Some of the nearby towns say they did.  I live about three hours South of Chicago.

Weatherwise, it should be an interesting year.  Last fall we had so much rain the farmers were still harvesting their crops in December - they couldn't get into the fields.  Now, all this snow.  Wonder what kind of Spring and Summer we'll have?   ???

Never a dull moment with Mother Nature!!   ;D

Take care,
Bucky
