To Bucky who wrote    "Ohiocat -  shoveling snow can be a strenuous job, especially if it's the wet, heavy snow.   Can you draft another family member to do the shoveling??  Hope you feel better from your cold."

Ahh, the idea of getting someone else to do the shoveling.    However, last time i checked at the store, they don't make cat size shovels.  HMMM, I wonder if that could be the next big invention,  shovels for cats and dogs to use.  I can see people training dogs perhaps to shovel,    but cats...hmmmm.

Besides my cats are only indoor cats and they don't understand about the outside.   They think my house has a magic pantry which always has a never ending supply of cat food. :D

Side question,  how do other folks get a quote from someone elses post to be placed in a box?

Ahhhh, good ole Mother Nature . . . still creating havoc around the world.

Towards the tail end of last week and all this week we've been having a lot of fog here in IL. Thick fog.  Freezing fog even!!  Yippee!!   :o

Tuesday night and Wednesday we had the freezing rain.  UGH!  I would much rather have the snow over the freezing rain and ice.  We lost power for about six hours last night.  Some areas are still without power.  Our driveway is a sheet of ice!!

We're suppose to have rain all this weekend.  Yippee Zippy DoDa!!   ::)

Let's see . . . according to the calendar there are 57 more days till Spring!!  Yay!!   ;D   ;D

57 days - gosh that's a long time yet. I'm sorry you are having such rubbish weather. We have had some fog over the last few days, but at lunchtime today, it was almost like spring. As the day went on it got colder and a big foggy again, but we have no ice here just now.

Keep warm.

I win Bucky!! We had no power today for 11 and half hours.........grrrrrrrrrrrr...it was crazy!

And yes...the freezing fog and wet ice is terrible. What is the worst are the parking lots and sidewalks.....when cars are sliding out of their parking spaces at work....while people are inside the building working...that's bad...a lot people falling on the ice too....Be careful out there!

Bernice

Well we have finally gotten back to normal, Thank God! For the last week or so it has been in the 50's and early 60's!. Off and on it has been raining, this time of the year we have to keep watch for tornnados.

Joy, how is it on your side of TN.??

Joy Cox

Hi Bernice, Checked the radar and it shows yellow box over your area. It's 10 p.m here. Are you getting stormy weather or just heavy rain?  Looks like we will get rain later in the night. Low 37 tonight.  It seems to  lately roar through your area with tornadic action and skips over our hills and valleys and hits the Appalachian Mts. Range head on (NC & VA).

Looks from the map it also wrapped around and came down far side of App. Mts. and hit east coast line (over near Raleigh/Durham area at DUke Med Ctr) where I go. Bet they got the ice part as did high NC mts. and VA. mts.

Hope you are safe tonight... and your power stays on.

Morning . . . .

Just got back from literally stomping my way to the road to meet the school bus with our son.   ::)  I didn't want to get the car out to drive to the end of the driveway as I'm afraid I will get stuck on the ice covered driveway - so we walked.  There is a glaze of ice e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e, that's why we had to "stomp" our way to the road.  When we would get to some really icy spots we would do the balancing act to cross it.  I fell once.  At least it was a softer landing in the spot where I fell versus on the ice covered driveway.  I put my cell phone in my coat pocket on the trip to the road in case I fell on the way back to the house and needed assistance. Thankfully, I didn't need to use it.   ;D

We lost power again last night for four hours.  I had just started to get our dinner out to put in the oven when the lights went out.  So, another evening of a lantern and candles.  We did turn the generator on a little bit to catch the evening news - then turned it off to conserve our gasoline since one never knows how long you will be without power when it goes out.

A rainy forcast for this weekend.  We're suppose to warm up into the 40's - which is good.  Just as long as we don't get tons of rain like they are getting in CA.    It seems like no one is exempt from Mother Natures fury.  It doesn't matter what mankind does - Mother Nature is in control!!   :o

Have a good day and weekend.   :D

Lynnmarie - unmanned cars sliding in a parking lot  :o . . whoa, that's not good!!!  Hopefully, this ice will melt soon.  It is NOT fun!!

All is well, nothing more than off and on drizzles. No we did not have any power outages, very seldom do unless a major storm comes through. This time of the year tornadoes watches are the norm, they may or may not show up, we don't give it much thought unless one is spotted right in our back yard! We very seldom get snow or ice, but lots of rain and a storms every now and then!

Today is probably in the 50's, so it's kind of cool and damp, we need jackets today!!!! Other than storms the worst of our bad weather is more than likely over for this year, it may or may not get cold again, chances are NOT, but who knows!

Joy, you take care to stay warm! It's so strange how different our weather is from one side of the same state, but TN. is a very long state! You are closer to colder states only, I am in the middle upper part of the state, I guess because I am surrounded by both warm and cooler states we here get a mixture of both, in fact that is what causes tornadoes, a mixture of cool and warm weather! Which may explain why we are warmer than you guys on that side, but cooler than Fla. and other southern states.

Another foggy day here in Central IL.  I don't ever remember us being foggy for a whole week before.  One would think we live near the ocean or something and we don't.  (closest body of water is the Illinois River)

It always amazes me the idiots who are out driving around with no headlights on in the fog!!  I flashed my headlights at a few drivers.  Hello - it's foggy, turn your lights on!!!   ::)

Last night on the way home from work my husband almost hit a lady walking on our road with her dog.  Of all things, she was wearing a black coat and it was dark out.  No flashlight, no reflecting lights, nothing!  He told me, "I bet she felt the wind of my truck go past her, I didn't see her until the last second!".  People, people, people . . . use common sense . . . if it's dark out, and foggy to boot, don't wear black without some sort of flashlight, reflector or something!!   :o  We're thankful . . this could have had a very bad outcome!

Be careful . . . .

Well here we go again! Suppose to have snow tomorrow sometime, don't know if it's foolish of me to believe them again, but I think we will finally get some on the ground this time. To tell you the truth I hope so, I really could use the extra sleep!

Patze

Yep, supposed to have a bit of snow here too, ugh (love the snow, it's the OTHER drivers that scare me!  ;) :D).

Yeah, well still waiting, but they're still promising!

Bucky

Bernice - I hope you get snow today . . . . I say that only because I know you don't have much faith in the weatherman and his forecasts- I'm routing for him today.   :D   Hope you are prepared just in case.   ;)

Happy Friday to ya!!

I think the snow is going south of us West Virginians. Hopefully. I've seen enough snow for one year. Come on Spring!!
I need the warm sunshine.

Does anyone else hurt unbarable when it is cold? Can't hardly walk today.
