As some of you know...I lost both Bella and Sophie...my two kitties last year and I was really getting ready to go to the shelter to look for another little one to love. Also my two boys (our dogs Bobby and Sedric) needed another little sister to love and play with.

Well I have some wonderful friends (and animal lovers) at work who have been talking to me a lot to see if I was ready to get another kitty and they knew I was and was getting ready to go look very soon. They also knew I wanted a shelter cat or a rescue kitty of some sort as most all of our animals have been strays, rescues, or unwanted in some way. Anyway, they beat me to it because they wanted to give me an extra special early birthday gift.

I now have a little 8-10 week old black kitty who is just so sweet. She and the boys hit it off right away and have been been getting along great even though its only been one day! Her story is that a woman found her on the road...a few days old and freezing to death in December. She looked for more to the litter but didn't find any so she was probably just thrown out there.

We know the County Animal Control guy who picked her out and brought her to me and he said the woman didn't know what to do with her and so...she since she was "big breasted" she put her down her shirt to keep her warm which probably saved her little life. From there the vet techs took her home and bottle fed her and brought her back up to where she should be and ready to be adopted which is where I came in.

Pretty good co-workers, huh? Anyway...we are still thinking of a name...I'll fill you all in more when we get one picked out! I'm so happy and I have already fallen completely in love with her! She has made herself completely at home and part of the family! I'm glad that they all got along so fast and easily...as many of you know it doesn't always work out that easy when you introduce a new animal to the family...so its all good!  :)

Aw Lynnmarie, that is SO WONDERFUL!!!!  The fur ball I currently have is also a rescue, and he has really good kitty manners (no furniture clawing, yadda, yadda, yadda), and is a good guy.

Don't forget to give us all the details when you can!

Lynnmarie - congratulations on your new addition to the family.   ;D  I have no doubt your new kitty will be loved by you and the boys.  I know you have missed having a kitty around.

If you need any help with names I have a book with 5,001 names for pets in it!!   :o  That's where Care got her name for Sammy.   :D

Have a wonderful time making memories with your precious little black kitty.

Hugs,
Bucky

Congratulations Lynnmarie on your new found kitty.  I just know she will be loved to pieces.

Sounds like my daughter and her animals.  When I ask what she named her last one she said "Addy".  "You know Mom, another ADDITION".  Sadly, Addy didn't have long to be with her, she had a problem with her digestion track.  But she still has lots more at her house. ;D

Good luck with your new love and a long happy life to the little one. ;)

Lynn,
I know you have grieved for your cats, and I'm so happy you have adopted a new one!  What a lucky little kitten to be loved by your family!  Here's to many happy years with her.  :)

Since Ohiocat jumped in and gave us her list, may I add a name or two to hers?  ??? :)

How about Frieda?  Or Millie?  I know, not too "cat like", but I've known some amazing animals with those names.

Or, in honor of her 2 predecessors, how about Phoebe, from Sophie and Bella?

:D Thanks for all of the suggestions and the offer to browse your book Bucky! They were calling her Coal at the vets office but that sounds more like a boys name to me so we are thinking of names that sound like or started like Coal and then we just got carried away with "C" names. I'm kind of leaning toward Callie even though she isn't a calico...its a pretty name and looking up its meaning the Greek origin means beautiful ...lovely.

Bucky

OK - I wasn't going to give any suggestions . . but, now that I know the letter you are looking at . . . . .  ;D

We had a Callie once - she was a tortoise colored calico, very pretty.

How about:  Candy, Carly, Carol, Casey, Cassie, Chelsea, Chloe, Chrissy, Cindy, Cissy, Cola, Colleen, Confetti  ;D, Cuddles, Cupid.

Good luck with the name picking . . . .

Naming your new family member is one of life's joys!   We had a gorgeous stray when I was young and I named her Clemmie (or Clemency when she was in trouble for sleeping on my Mum's pillows!)
