The bad news is that in the past month I had a week of bronchitis, a week of a staph infection in my salivary gland and now my daughter who is with us this summer for an internship has strep throat. The good news is that with all of your advice I was able to treat the bronchitis and it didn't turn to pneumnoia, the staph infection is better and I learned from you guys how to take care of my glands to ease my pain and to prevent future infections and I don't have strep yet and in fact I am not going to get it!! But the best news is : hubby came home and asked me how fast I could get ready to go to Hawaii. I told him it would take me about 10 minutes. He said I could have 2 days. It seems he "has" to go to Hawaii for business and I can go too and see my son, his wife and four of my grandchildren who I don't get to see often. I will take my tranquileyes on the plane and all the other essential stuff  we need and when I come home I will be all better.!!!!

How exciting I am excited for you. Last month, well that is over thank goodness but to see your grandchildren wow.  My son and family live in Spain and today I bought presents for my eight year old granddaughter who lives there.  My daughter and other granddaughter are going to visit soon but I am not well enough.  Have you time to get presents it doesn't sound like it?  Have a wonderful time.  kelsey

FBM--You are one lucky gal.  Gather all your meds up and GO.  Just remember the quart sized plastic ziplock bag and all your liquid stuff for carry on must fit in there.  I had all my eye drops in there, plus any other thing I might need on the plane.  This is indeed good news and I can say that any one of us would like to fill in for you if there is a slot.   ;D

Have a great time and enjoy those grandchildren and family.  When opportunity knocks, open that door and go.  Take care, be careful and have a wonderful time.

Also, if you can stand it why don't you wear a surgical mask on the plane. This will keep all those bad bugs away from you as you don't need another infection. Also, interestingly enough, when you wear one of the masks you will find that when you exhale there is moisture that gets trapped inside the mask and it helps to moisten your airway.

Also, another trick I have learned it to take a clean wash cloth and wet it down good and rinse out just so it doesn't drip. Put it in a plastic bag and when you get really dry you can put it up to your nose and it helps to moisten your airway when you breath. It is really a lifesaver. Good luck with all the packing and have a fantastic trip. Irish ;D

Thanks to all of you for your "bon Voyage" wishes. I am back and I am all better! It was a quick trip but so beneficial. I didn't have to do nasal lavage at all and the chest cleared up and I didn't have trouble with the sun. Hubby bought me a sun protective rash guard so I was protected and looked cool too.  My grandchildren were so fun- . When my kids were growing, my hubby always tried to teach them that not only should they cheer up the down trodden, but they should rejoice in their friend's successes and good fortune and be happy when good things happen to their friends.  I just say that because it meant so much to me that you were all so happy for this opportunity I had. I left home singing because of your good wishes. It made me feel so good. Thanks for your friendship. We all need it as we fight this misunderstood "syndrom"
