Hi Navydad,
I think maybe your thermostat is broke.  ;D  No seriously, it's probably your autonomic nervous system doing it.  You will find quite a few of us have the same problems.  I myself only sweat from the neck up, and boy do I ever in the summer.  It runs down my head and drips off the ends of my hair.  :(

It's just one more thing you have to cope with.  Sjs just keeps on giving to some of us.  Sure wish it would give "return receipts".

Hang in there,

Pooh

navydad, Pooh is right. Those of us with sjogrens and possible with some other autoimmune diseases have a broken therastat. I have sweat a lot and been hot for years. I get so hot that I feel like I will faint and did that at work. I found that if I placed a wet, folded washcloth on my neck during the heat waves I cool off better. I turn the washcloth every 15 minutes or so and this helps my brain stay cool so I can think.

It is really frustrating when there is work to be done because sometimes just walking across a room can make me break out in a sweat. I have a nickname now from hubby and friends because I wear the folded colored handkerchiefs around my forehead. If I don't the sweat runs down into my eyes and really burns. The only thing I can say is keep a water bottle on hand at all times and eat bananas and orange juice. Irish ;D

I have the head, face, and neck sweats too. That's a good idea, Irish - I should have thought to use a sweat headband.

What's very strange about this is that I don't sweat under my arms like I used to. I read somewhere that's the autonomic nervous system on the fritz too.

Hi  :)

hands up here too. I sweat from the chest up. When I was younger my face NEVER used to sweat. I thought it was hot flushes but they really should be pretty well past.
I feel like my thermostat is broken.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Joe

My daughter had a kidney infection recently and one of the things that happened to her was waking up absolutely bathed in sweat every day. It could happen daytime too. She opened her door to someone and they thought she'd been showering with her clothes on. If your kidneys hurt I reckon you need them checked out. Kidney infections tend not to get better on their own.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Same here!  I sweat from the face and scalp and at night as well. Just the top of my t-shirt will be soaked as well as my pillowcase.  During the day the slightest bit of heat or activity or anxiety will set it off and any combination of the three and I'm gushing like a faucet and I also do not sweat under my arms.    I alreay know that I have autonomic neuropathy so Navydad....welcome to the club.

I sweat all over my body. My underclothes will be soaked and my shirt and waist band on my slacks or jeans. It is so bad that I don't like to dress up at all or go anyplace like church, etc. I do manage to get to Walmart in my jeans!!!Irish ;D

Billydude

I get embarrased to go places too.  I'll go into a store or post office and I have little rivers running down my cheeks.   You know ...that fat cheeks because of the darn swollen Parotid glands.

I'm with Irish, I sweat...boy can I sweat all over - have to take extra clothes with me to work because I never know when the flood will start.  And at night, whoa, some nights now I am "fairly" dry, other nights, I have to change sheets, clothes, the whole works (and I always use a towel or two on my pillows).  And this has been going on for several years already. ::)

I'm jealous Irish, I wish I could wear jeans every day! :D

Take care -

Does your skin hurt where you sweat? That is a new Sx for me. It does not happen all the time. I first noticed it on my face and later on my body.

No,  my skin doesn't hurt.    We are all certainly unique.

Joe, I sometimes will have a burning sensation where I have sweat. I think that we don't sweat normal sweat. I know that I have more body odor than I used to when I sweat and it really frustrated me.

Also, I finally gave up and wear the old handky around my forehead like a hippy because if I don't the sweat runs in my eyes and it burns badly. The last time I was at my sons house I loaded my luggage and had to make 3 trips. It was about 65 degrees and I was sweating bad!!! My shirt and the car seat were just soaked. I was about an hour from my sons house and the sweat was still running out of my head and dripping down behind my ears onto my shoulders. I sure hate this. I think it wears us out when we sweat like that. I know that I have to stop every little bit and rest when I sweat like that.

Won't kill us but sure is ickky!! Irish ;D
