California Heat

Hi to all of you who live in California like me. Yesterday it was 110 degrees where I live.  That has pretty much been the norm for nine days now.  Yesterday, I lost power and the inside of my place got up to 94 degrees before they restored power.  After today the weather will drop, but Hurricane Kay will be dropping rain in the south, and dry lightening and thunder in the north, where I am.  We have enough fires now, we don't need more.

So, how are you Californians handling the heat and the smoke?  I have a "Instant Cooling Towel" that I put on my neck.  You just get it wet and then snap it to make it cool.  I have been putting it in the freezer for five minutes as well.  The weather changes really get to me.  How about you?

A few years ago we had a horrible heat wave in the Pacific NW, getting up to 106 in Seattle and 120 in Canada.  Unheard of around here.  Anyway I'm sorry your having such a miserable time in California.  The temp. changes are just so depressing to me.  I'm sad for the people that are really struggling and for the future.  When I moved here in the 70's nobody had AC and nobody needed it.  Now it's pretty much a necessity.

My granddaughter moved to an area in in San Joaquin Valley in June and she has had the worst heat. Between 95 and 115 degrees much of the time since she has been there. She texted a picture of clouds and rain on Friday or Saturday. Crazy weather all over the world

In MInnesota the leaves are turning and drying up early. I am scared to death we will have an early winter. We were cold thru May and then it was a hot summer. WE take what we get but it sure seems to bring on a lot of complaining from us all. Take care. meirish
