Can neuropathy cause finger twitch?

Just got back from a week's holiday (a stress in itself, even though it wasn't anything that would exhaust a normal person!).   During that week my right index finger started twitching from side to side - not rhythmically, just sporadically, but sometimes for hours at a time.   Thumb also twitched a bit.

I realise that this could be caused by something like Parkinsons or MS, but wondered (hoped I suppose) if it could be caused by Sjogrens?

I've had almost body wide neuropathic(i think) symptoms for about a year. Tingling, pain, burning etc and twitching also. Even muscles in my ears twitch every now and then. I've been twitching for years but not as much as I'm now though.

Don't know about large fiber but there is a connection between small fiber neuropathy and twitching at least:

Edit. Forgot to say that healthy individuals can also twitch occasionally. I'd say most of twitching is benign.

Yes, Araminta, twitching is part of Neuropathy, like small fiber neuropathy.

I will monitor things and maybe see the GP if this continues.

It seems that never a couple of months go by without some new symptom.

I know, Araminta.  It's always something and then it's something else!

In the past year I've been diagnosed with two conditions related to neuropathy of my gastrointestinal system:  Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) and Achalasia (the bottom of my esophagus doesn't open and everything just backs up into my mouth.

Ain't we got fun!
