My husband's oncologist provides a psychotherapist as part of his service!

Today the therapist from my husband's oncologist called to schedule the first appointment.

My husband has Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, and started chemo last week.  Two sessions infusing a monoclonal antibody, Gazyva, one round of Leukeran, an old fashioned chemo taken by mouth, last week.

After the first week his 'numbers' were dramatically better, normal in fact!  So he gets to stop the oral medication which made him miserable for four days, and have only the infusions for a while.

And an appointment with a therapist.

I am SO IMPRESSED. And my husband is happy to be doing this!

He also came home with bottles of Ensure from his oncologist, to make sure he has a good diet.  He does, anyway, but hey, why not.  He mixes the chocolate Ensure with Haagan Daz ice cream.

So all is well at this point.

Seems like a doctor who cares about his patients. Wishing you and your husband healing and days of peace. Ensure was a life saver.

I'm very glad your husband's treatment is having a good effect.   Ensure plus ice cream sounds very helpful too!
