My fellow Sjoggie-Mates.

I have really been getting hit hard from every bodily angle. Please allow me to share.

It is so nice to have a smile in the midst of my un-ending pain. My son, Jon who is a U.S. Embassy Guard, guarding our US  Embassy in Rome, Italy just sent me the coolest picture.
He had the honor of serving VIP Guard Duty yesterday. He was able to guard and give a Rome Embassy Coin to Secretary of State, John Kerry.

We always want our kids to grow up & be independent. I can't help but look at this picture with beaming pride & think that he's done it. :-)

Please excuse my bragging...I just can't help myself. It is my momentary Sjogren's escape! I may just have to blog about this today (SjoDryandparched)

Thanks for indulging me!

Thank you for all of the kind words. Beside the 'proud mom' thing, it is a nice distraction from all of the never-ending symptoms. Going to the Hematologist on the 13th to rule out Lymphoma. Jon gives me fun things to focus on besides how bad I feel.

After the John Kerry VIP event, he sent pictures of the Pope. Jon sat on the 12 th row of Christmas Mass at the Vatican. He told us that he is friends with the Swiss Guards who were going to give him a private tour of the Vatican (all the way to the top). He also said that he can get us a private tour of the Vatican when we can come in June.

I am excited & scared at the same time. Not sure how I will hold up with all of the walking when we go. But I'll crawl if I have to. I've got 5.5 months to whip my sad self into shape. Think positive!!!

Thanks for indulging my happy Mom moments! You're all the best! And your support is appreciated.

Congratulations to you! You must have raised him right.

I showed the picture to my husband, as he lived in Rome years ago when his Dad was with the State Department, assigned to our embassy there. He remembers wandering the halls. You will have a lovely time visiting - it's so different when you know someone living there, rather than just breezing through as a tourist.

Take care,

Genko
