I began using glutamine powder a couple of weeks ago & feel it's helping my gut.
Am using 1/2 tsp daily.
Has anyone else found glutamine useful?

I went to a holistic practitioner when I was first ill, she put me on glutamine and Pregnenalone (that later is a hormone). It turned out that I had an H Pylori infection so that glutamine would not have proven helpful to me. The Pregnenalone helped at first, but I started getting pretty aggressive after a while so stopped taking it.

I heard of glutamine through a polio magazine.  I'm using 100% pure glutamine.  My neighbour says she is being put on l-glutamine so will explore the difference.
I'm hoping glutamine will help with my food allergies.

The polio mag write up says glutamine can prevent or help these conditions:
brain fog, memory, post-exercise fatigue, diabetes, colds & flu, food allergies, reflux/gerd, irritable bowel, ulcerative colitis, candida yeast overgrowth, severe burns, chemotherapy side effects, pancreatitis, depression.
Wow, what a list!!

Write up said usual dose needed is 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon.  If taking to repair gut lining or bowel disease may need 1-2 tsp daily.  Vits B3, B6 & C are required as helper nutrients in its conversion pathways.  Interesting.

Guess one needs to trial these things.
