I enjoyed Neil deGrasse Tyson's response to his position on GMO foods...chill out!

Not sure if I've mentioned this before...I had one person ask me if DNA was poisonous, they were concerned that it was in GMO foods.  Ummm...every cell of everything we eat has DNA, so no, not poisonous.  But the question really made me realize how much fear is out there.

I went to a talk where the presenters had been able to insert a salt tolerance gene into tomato plants that allowed the plants to grow on otherwise unusable land.  And the salt was gathered in the leaves, not the fruit, so you could sell the fruit and remove excess salt from the soil by removing the plants.  The soil had become too salty from irrigating with high mineral water and slowly the land in the region would become unusable.  I thought to myself " how cool is that?"
