My hubby and I took a little trip through our wonderful state of Mich and it took about 6 days.  We really didn't need a vacation, but my hubby is driving me crazy...he was mowing the grass every two days, changing the oil in this car and that mower.  Had to cut branches in trees so he could drive the new mower under the trees without getting scratched by branches.  This HAD to be done all of a sudden the day we were to leave on our vaca.  Geez, he needs to get away.

The first day, we drove to the Upper Peninsula near my birthplace.  There are so many things to see up there that we spent two days on our first stop.  I did not do much, as I am not good on my feet (walking any distance.).  The weather was hot up there and that never happens.  Wonderful circumstances.  After that, we went to the American Sault. Ste. Marie and visited friends.  They were also having a 50 anniversary celebration over the International Bridge (to Canada) and had ceremonies and fireworks.  This was so great.

I was able to take naps and rest as I wanted.  Did not push myself too far and husband was relaxed and not up tight.  As long as he can get to a tv every day he's happy.  He did like the Locks where the boats pass through from Lake Superior to Lake Erie. (Hope I got that right.)  Looking forward this week to having relatives coming to town and they will stay with my sister as her place is bigger and on the lake. I hope you each can find some time to take a little vaca.  Lucy

Lucy,

That is wonderful! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

I bet the 50th celebration was really neat.

I took a vacation this year too (first in many years) and even though I was nervous & had to make accommodations I almost felt like my old life again. In fact better because I appreciate more.

Sounds like you both enjoyed it & did what you wanted, which is what a vacation is for.  :)

Welcome home, Lucy!   :D

Sounds like you had a nice, relaxing vacation.

The best kind of vacation (to me), is one where you aren't on a strict time schedule to go here, see this, go there, etc.  I know people who have every second of their vacation down to a "schedule" - that's not relaxing to me and would stress me out more.  Just go with the flow . . .  ;D

I'm glad you were able to take naps and rest as you needed to.  (they really need some thumbs up icons on here, other than on the message icon).

You didn't haul any furniture home, did you?   ;)

No furniture Bucky.  I want to give the recliner to my brother in law who sat in it and fit in it nicely.  He is about 1 foot taller than hubby or I.  I will have to see the wrath of my sil though.  I think they "pawned this huge thing off on us."  Lucy
