The heat is on . . . .

Whew . . . summer isn't EVEN officially here and the temperatures are already hot.   ???

I live in Central Illinois and already this spring we've had several days of 90 degree weather.

Yesterday, we were at 90 degrees.  Today - I'm not sure what the temperature was, but at 7:35 p.m. it's 81 degrees out.  This weekend our temperatures are suppose to be:  Saturday - 96 degrees, Sunday - 97 degrees, and Monday - 93 degrees.  Ugh!

Heat and me don't agree.  It makes me feel sick and just zaps my energy.  My best arsenal against the heat is to hibernate indoors in the air conditioning.

According to the weather reports, a lot of us in the mid section of the U.S. will be experiencing warm temperatures this Memorial Day holiday weekend.  Please be sure and stay hydrated and limit outdoor exposure to these extreme temperatures.

Don't forget to give fresh water and shelter to your animals that are outside too.

It's becoming that way here in East Tn. too Bucky. I am going to have to mow the grass tomorrow. It is a riding mower, because we have a huge yard, but being in the hot sun is still not fun.

I also have a few more flowers to put out, that have been sitting on my front porch, but got some more potting soil today.

Everyone stay as cool as you can.

So much for our 90+ weather in s.e. michigan.  We have cool temps with thundershowers.  We desperately needed rain so I'm not complaining!  There will be plenty of time for hot weather in July.

I also don't mix well with heat and humidity...and even though I have some plans outdoors on my days off....Im also spending a lot of time indoors in the A/C...which is just the way I like it!  ;D

It's quite warm here in the Uk too.  Very hot and uncomfortable at night without air con.

Oh, my Gosh! We had a heck of a rain fall that came through just before noon today. I could stand at the kitchen sink and watch this huge, low black cloud move slowly from the Southwest.

Pretty soon it started to lightning and it was the worst I had seen a years. It went like straight down to the ground and it was so wide that I felt like it could be measured by the foot up close. I finally just sat down in the living room away from the windows and watched. Lightning struck somewhere ono the acreage across the road. It just exploded into a big fireball. I don't think it hit the house.

I rained so hard that you could hardly see the road at times. Didn't last all that long but water was standing all over. Just a little while ago the radio said that it was to be low of 70 tonight (warm for this time of the year in MN) and high of 91. You can feel the humidity rising even in the house with the windows closed.

Me thinks that this is going to be a bad summer. I don't think we had more than one tornado watch last summer which it almost unheard of in MN. Gonna make up for it this year. It is exhausting sitting up and watching the weather. Hubby has always just gone to bed and said "what will be will be." Me, I want to knoe when I might have to meet my maker. Irish

I have a crow sitting in the shade of a tree with it's wings spread out and I can see it panting. 92  degrees here.

My impatients are in pots on the shaded porch and appear to be wilting.

Temp here in Eastern Iowa is 90 as of 2:30pm. This is our first 90 degree temp here.

I don't get my new CA (old one is kaput) until June 12th. BUT I do have the fan going that pulls the air from the basement and circulates it. So it is 78 in the house - not bad. I got the ceiling fans going too so it is comfortable.

Hope for me the weather doesn't get any hotter until after I get my CA in and it stays confortable in here or I may have to go to a hotel.  :(

Well no sun out today but still ver humid.  Have had windw open since 6am, still warm.  Find it can give me a headache too wih the window shut.

Iris

It's still 96 here at 5:12pm  with low humidity so my a/c and humidifier are working overtime..

I wish we'd get some rain..

Right now, at 5:29 p.m. it is 93 degrees outside.  Ugh!

Wish I could stay indoors and hibernate - but, we have to head to the school for a sports banquet for our son.   :(

Pisces - I hope things stay "cool" enough for you until you get your new CA, so you DON'T have to go to a hotel.

Irish - wow . . . sounds like some storm that rolled through your area.  My boys can sleep through anything, so I'm the weather watcher during the night.  I've seen some of those scary storms too.  Glad everything is okay for you.

I want to stay home . . . I want to stay home . . . I want to stay home.  (tried my best Dorothy heel-clicking that I could muster) Guess it's not going to work and I have to leave now to head to the school.  Rats!!

It is not the heat here but the humidity that is keeping me down today!

lynnmarie219

Were you wearing your red ruby slippers when you were saying "I want to stay home" Bucky? That could have been the problem.  ;)

Oh my gosh it's hot!!

We went to an outdoor graduation party yesterday afternoon when it was 93; whew!! Loved being with family I hadn't seen for a while but I would've loved it more if it was cooler.  :D
