Slow to heal?

I noticed lately I am very slow to heal.  Had 2 white pimples on my face last week that that I picked  ::) and are still the same as last week.  Normally they would be gone with neosporin in 2 days.

My 4 year old daughter head butted me Wednesday in my lip and I started to bleed a little but it wouldn't stop for a half hour (my platelets were low at my last blood draw so that explains that) but there as no swelling, no fat lip.  It's still as if she did it this morning.  Tender with a small visible cut on my lip.  In the past it would have been healed the next morning.

Lots of other things too.

Anyone else slow to heal suddenly?  What's it from and how can I heal fast again??

I have always been an incredibly slow healer. It took me almost two months to get over my wisdom teeth removal! I'm also very prone to complications and infections, so it probably just comes with the territory of these diseases.

Joe- I am not sure.  The blood test they did wasn't fasting, but my sugar was 99, which is the highest number in the normal range.  My sugars have always been normal previously.  Why?

That should be good. If your Blood Sugar is High it is hard for you to heal.

I didn't know that!  I'll keep an eye on it.  Lip and pimples are still the same... ::)

Same with me MLW, and I was always the fast healer among the siblings - it didn't make a difference what it was from either (that ability sure raised an eyebrow or two with doctors over the years).  Now a days I can get a bruise and it will last for several weeks instead of the week or less of days gone by I'm sad to say (my sugar levels are well within the normal range).

What its from I can't tell you (I also have a genetic blood disorder that complicates things a bit), but I too sure would love to be back to the super healing.

Have you spoken with your doctor about it yet?  If you have, what did he say about it?

Take care of yourself -

I used to be a fast healer when I was younger. Not true anymore. I have had my blood sugar checked for other things and it comes back normal.
