Today was a good day!

Today has been a l-o-n-g day, but a very good day.   :D  I got up at 5:05 a.m. this morning to get ready and to pick up a friend and travel for an hour to an all day Women's Conference.  The Conference was very good.  I sooooo wanted to get up on stage and ask the 850 women in attendance if anyone there had Sjogren's.  Surely, somebody there has Sjogren's too.

After the Conference, I got to meet and give a hug to Thelma Wells who was our Keynote speaker of the day.  For those of you who don't know who she is, she used to be involved with The Women of Faith group and traveled all over presenting talks.  She is also the author of several books.  Whenever I have attended a conference or concert in the past I would always "wish" I could go up to the person and talk to them.  This time, i wasn't going to let the opportunity pass without getting to speak to Thelma.  In fact, she stood there with her arm around my shoulder as she talked to four other women!   ;D

The other speaker of the day was a gal named Renee Bondi who is a quadriplegic from a fall out of her bed when she landed on her head and broke her neck.  An amazing lady who has a beautiful singing voice.  Anything I deal with day in and day out is NOTHING compared to what she deals with daily.  Renee has taken what life has handed to her and hasn't wallowed in pity, but is making the most of what she still CAN do.

Straight from this Conference, I had to go watch a Scholastic Bowl meet our son was in.  They won two of the three matches.   ;D

It's nice to have a really good day sprinkled in among the ho-hum days every now and then.   It's been a busy day - one that started very early this morning - bet I'll sleep well tonight.   ;D

Wow Bucky, sounds like you had a great day!!!  Lucky you!  I'm also glad that you got to meet and talk with Thelma Wells, and I'm glad that you went for it too!

Give your son my best and tell him congrats for me too (two out of three, that is an outstanding outcome!! ;D)!
