... and my puborectalis muscle is beautiful again ;D Well, maybe not beautiful, but hopefully fully functioning.

I had it done yesterday, under general anaesthetic, and apart from my usual asthma problems in recovery, things went well. I arrived home mid-evening and have been ok since. The only discomfort is from where the injections went in, and an even foggier brain than usual from the anaesthetic. So, have spent quite a lot of today sleeping.

Hopefully, I will go back to work tomorrow. We are having an important inspection to become part of the NHS Patient Information Accreditation Scheme, and I may need to speak with the assessors. However, my manager is very good, and if I can't make the full day, she will let me leave, so it's not as arduous as some jobs.

Hope everyone is as well as can  be - and keeping warm. It's cold and damp here in West Yorkshire, and definitely feels autumnal.

Cold and damp this side of the Pennines too Kathy!  But glad to hear it's over and you are recovering.  Hope you are up to working, and don't forget to take your manager up on the offer to go home if it's too much.

Hi Kathy

It's great to hear that it went well and that you're not too sore.  I hope you don't get tired tomorrow - I agree with the others that you should take your manager up on her offer and go home early.

ps it's rainy and cold in Brighton too!

Hiya

Work went ok today. It was a a very unusual day, with the NHS assessors in. I think the adrenalin kept us all going. The good news is, that after jumping through countless hoops, we have been accredited by the NHS for our patient information leaflets. We are delighted, as we are one of the very first organsations to get this, and have been working towards it for over a year.

Nightcap and bed now :)

Hi Kathy,

So glad to hear that your procedure went went and that you made it through your first day back at work! Congrats on being accredited by the NHS!

I hope you continue to feel better each day......remember to slow down if it becomes too much!  ;D

That's great news Kathy.  You must have such a sense of achievement having all your hard work recognised by the NHS.  Are you working on a new project now or finalising this one?

Hope you're getting some rest and feeling healed day by day.

Hi Chickpea

Yes, we had cake at work to celebrate today. It's been an awful lot of hard work this year, and we have literally had to jump through hoops. The accreditation means that we have to use a complete system for making sure that all our literature meets the NHS standards. It's an evolving standard, so will keep us on our toes. As we have well over a hundred pieces of literature, the process will have to be gone through each time we need to review/reprint, so it's an on-going project. In 12 months, we will have to go through the accrediation again.

So, it's a wonderful achievement for the whole team, but we can't rest on our laurels, or let standards slip. I guess it makes life more intersting :)

Now, we just have to find the time to speak to our callers on the helpline, which is in fact our main role.
