Strange discomfort upon sneezing ?

Hello Everyone,

Another posting has prompted this new topic.  I have recently been diagnosed with SjS and have many symptoms of which I will not bore everyone  (again)

Its a strange one  .... but for some time now whilst trying to sneeze, I have been having some discomfort around the rib cage (front & back) like a constricting feeling under the breasts, whilst inhaling..you know, as I am trying to sneeze...does anyone have this ?

Any thoughts would be welcome.

I am not sure if this is the same...I had it happen several times and then it hasn't happened in a while.  It felt like I was being squeezed so hard it took my breath away.  It only happened when I would take a deep breath or go to get up from a chair.

I think it might have your posting Deb that prompted mine....I suppose the contricting feeling could be classed as a squeezing feeling...but it doesn't take my breath away and I dont have it when I go to stand up

We are a strange pair aren't we ?

p.s.... I am being a hypochondriac, I was thinking Oh No...its the 'MS HUG',  the brain is working overtime as it often does with me!!

  Hi Paula, quite a few of us have complained of issues with the ribcage, including  myself.

   I have had this for a number of years, tho not necassarily upon sneezing.  I feel that my ribcage is swelling and sometimes my bra seems way too tight round me.
It waxes and wanes , sometimes just plain aggrevating,
                                and other times my upper center back will become rather painful and makes me so  fatigued when trying anything least bit energetic..  It really is weird tho isin't it,?

  After tests which came up showing nothing , I was  given Naproxen for the pain  ..
   I guess it is just another gift from SS !

It is strange isnt it!

Thinking about what you said about your bra being too tight.  I get a full feeling under my bra (I am hypo) and my cousin has hashimoto's and she has complained for years about a bloating feeling under her bust she is convinced its to do with the thyroid..not sure if its the same thing with you tho 

Its always something with our health isnt it? drives me nuts, to the point that I am so sick of going to the Drs that when I go there are too many things to mention...I said to my cousin, I'll end up leaving out the symptom that kills me     thank God for HUMOUR!

OMG.

I'm so glad somebody has brought this up.

I have been having problems for the past couple of years with sneezing.  I almost dread when I have to.  Every single time I sneeze after I'm done, I get this sharp squeezing near the top of my chest and bottom of my throat.  It really hurts.  And the sneeze always feels so rough, like my lungs are trying to squeeze an apple thru a straw hole.

RS.....my sneezes can be very violent, the velocity of them are so severe that it hurts my throat badly, but my constricting sensation is actually as I am trying to breathe in to sneeze...if that makes sense?

I wonder what it is

Violent ...........perfect word to describe it ...........at least it is for me.

Yeah....same here... no luck, until I find an answer, if I ever do?? I think I'll put it down to 'one of those things'
