Symptoms changing - how long will this flare last?

I have just been through some sort of flare, had a night in hospital for suspected DVT, given heparin for a week, had costochondritis, leg pain etc..etc..

I do feel a lot better and have just survived a week looking after three children on my own.  Trouble is, it's not over yet but the symptoms have changed.  Now, I have tinnitus in one ear, a left sided neurological headache, my shoulder and left arm tingle like mad and my thoracic spine has seized up.  In fact, the costochondritis I had last week was mainly in the sternum (felt like daggers in it) and now, I have exactly the same feeling but in the back!  I am presuming this is all part of it but is there anything I can do to settle this flare down a bit? Does this seem familiar to anyone else?

I'm on aspirin for Antiphospholipid syndrome and trying to take it easy.  My leg pain is still there but not so acute and has been put down to thrombophlebitis by doctors at hospital.  I believe the whole thing was all down to a bigger autoimmune flare than usual due to emotional stress I've just been through.

Anyway, would be grateful if anyone recognises these symptoms and what medication helps them as I see the Rheumatologist next week and want to be prepared.  Thanks.

Tryfan,
I wish I had an answer for you. I know stress can trigger things BIG time. Have you been to this rheumy before? If you have I would call and see what they have to say. If not, I'd call your PCP and see what they suggest. If muscle relaxants would help or something like that. I hope you feel better soon.
Take care,
Leslie

Tryfan, So sorry to hear about your trouble. Just yesterday at the Rheumy's office I specifically asked him about the fact that when I am in what seems to be a flare, my symptoms switch around! It's totally random and one minute I will have severe pain in my knee and the next the side of my face is swelling, then it will be some different joints or burning in my feet. He told me that is the nature of Sjogren's and the autoimmune response. Doesn't fix it but it helped to know I am not crazy!! I really hope things calm down for you quickly.

Tryfan and missy, let me join you. I have the 'wandering symptoms' at the moment too. They are very trying. Hope the flares don't last to long.
