i am going back to the internist on tuesday to get the results of the blood work
i know that the blood work may come back with nothing and i will not have a dx
then there is a part of me that is hoping that whatevers wrong is not sjs and its somthing that can be cured
but i know that is wishful thinking

if i have a dx or not i know there is not much else he can do i do not have pain or fatigue i have dry eyes and dry mouth

so i dont even know if i should see a rhuemy yet

what should my next step be?

thank you all for the support you have given me
this has been hard to deal with alone

To another "Yooper"--

JAS, I hope you do not have Sjogrens, also.  If your tests come back negative, there really isn't anything to treat except the dry eyes and dry mouth.  You say you don't have fatigue or pain.

The treatment for dry eye is the same whether or not you have Sjogrens.  There isn't much treatment for dry mouth either except Biotene products and also Salagen or Evoxac which is sometimes prescribed.  Maybe your doctor will discuss with you the merits of seeing a rheumatologist.  I believe you said you liked your internist quite well and hopefully you can put your trust in him/her.

  Jas,
Just to add to your post,   You may never progress beyond the dryness, which you can hopefully control with the treatments that Lucy suggested..

I have had the dryness for a very long time now , which waxes and wanes regarding certain situations..

I have issues with body temperatures too,  and other  quirks , but life goes on , we get down , but then we get up again!

Don't beat youself up over this , take each day as it comes, and when your worried come here and vent it..
                                                       Good Luck, Dolly

I guess you do have to take each day as it comes,, our families love us just the same,, they may not understand,, but they still love us,, they miss the old us,, and we hate the new us,,I got DX;ed with positive antibodies,, but like a lot of people said,, just becasue you hear hoove beats,, dont assume its a horse,, it just might be a zebra,, a gorse of as dffernt color alltogether

Jason,  hang in there, hopefully your blood work can tell you if it is autoimmune or not and you can go from there.

Hi Jason,

Hang in there, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!  I sure hope that you come up positive just so you can be treated, as you know, it's so hard to be sero negative.

Take care -

Patze
