Missing in Action

Well Folks,
I've been missing in action for a long long time.  I'm still here and hope to get back into discussions very soon.  We moved and now have finally sold our house.  I had to cut out everything that didn't pertain to cleaning and yard work for two houses at the same time.  Very exhausting and time consuming.  But the old house sold a couple of weeks and I'm now trying to get the world settled down to some normal actions.

I'm hoping to catch up on the two forums that are dear to my heart , namely this one and the neuropathy and dry eye forum.  My health?  Well it isn't the best right now.  I don't recommend that anyone in the condition that I am in should ever consider making a move.  My husband says that if he had known how badly it would affect my health, he never would have let it happen.  I have one permanently crippled finger and my pelvis didn't heal right from the stress fractures.  I have a permanent serious limp.

On the plus side.  I do have a lovely place to work and he is puttering in a new flower bed that I'll be able to see from my studio.

I did a little research this morning for anyone who is interested in it.  I find that I no longer know this forum and must study it to know where to put things so if this needs to be moved, please feel free to do it.

For those of you who wear C-Paps:  a new eye protection,  http://www.eyeeco.com/home/file/product/iproduct_id/201/onyix_silicone_shiled.html

This product is made by the co. that some of us who wear the tranquileye goggles know as eyeeco.

I hope to catch up with all of you soon.

Billye,

Sorry to hear about your hip not mending properly.  The next time I have to move I think it would be easier to just burn the old house down and buy everything new, I hate to move.

The cpap article has peaked my interest since it looks like I will be getting one, are you saying that air leaks from the mask and dries your eyes out?

Scottietottie

Hi Billye  :)

Welcome back!

No more moving things round the forum now. Everything is just in one place apart from 'social hour and newby introduction'.  It was decided there would be less administration doing it this way.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Billye, welcome back lady!!!!

I'm glad to see you back and that your old house sold!  I'm also sorry to see that your health is not good, hang in there my friend.

The goggles are neat, but I'm going to order the tranquileye goggles, as my eyes have gotten worse.  How are yours doing?

Oh, I love the flower beds your talking about, hummm, I'd love to do that too, but the cat would probably eat them (he does love his greens! ;)).

Hi Epson, you can get leaks from your mask for a lot of different reasons, and the age of the mask seems to be the biggest issue with me.  I can't speak for the others, but if I've used the mask more than eight months straight, I'll get leakage problems (I clean the one I'm using a couple of times a week).  The leaks tend to wake me up so that makes things a bit more interesting the next day.

I have three masks now and I'll rotate them to make them last longer.  I hope this makes some sense for you. ;) :D

Take care -

Patze

Welcome back Billye!

So glad to hear that you are working on your new house and the old one is SOLD! One small place is exhausting for me to take care of (and I don't do a very good job of it either)...I don't think I could ever take care of two....in fact I know it would be a disaster for me....lol!  :)

Hope you start to feel better now that the work load has decreased by one house! Enjoy those flowers!

Epson,
I don't have any problem with the tranquileye regular goggles.  But I understand that this goggle was made to fit under the C-Pap.  It has a lower profile and will be easier for some people to wear.  I have an extremenely large orbital area (bone around eyes) so they didn't fit me but it's getting rave reviews from people on the dry eye forum.  The regular goggles are larger (stick up off your face more).

Epson

Billye,

Thanks for the info.

Glad to see you back Billye.  I hope you are feeling better soon from your move.  It is hard enough on those in good heath much less for those with chronic problems.  You have a wonderful hubby to plant a flower bed for you.  Mine wisely does not because he knows I would kill the flowers in a week anyway.

I have been trying to follow the Neuropathy Associations blog to keep up on news but sometimes have trouble keeping up.  How to find a thread that you are interested in.  Soooo much gets posted in one day.

Take care - hope you feel better soon.

billye, Boy, have you had a lot of work to do these past months. I am glad that you made it through all this moving and cleaning alive. It is hard enough to do when healthy so I don't know how you did it with all your health issues.

Glad to hear that you have a studio and that hubby has his garden space. Now, hopefully life will settle down and you can come back on the forum. I sure have missed you. Seems like some of the old timers don't show up as often now. There are lots of new people so I figure that the docs must be diagnosing more of them.

Take care my friend. Oh, did you move closer to your son? Just wondering as it would be nice. Irish ;D

TerriJ

Hi Billye,

I'm pretty new to SJS and fibro and too this board.

Even a big weekend does me in, so I can't imagine what moving would do!  I'm glad you're through it now though and hopefully will feel better and can fully enjoy what your new home has to offer.  You mentioned a studio.  Are you an artist?

Terri

LOL  My hubby keeps saying we need to move because where we live is getting too crowded and we are  rural anymore.  Of course he does not have an answer to exactly who is going to pack everything up and get it from one place to another.  My children have been told they will have the joy of clearing all this out when we are gone.

LenV

Hi TerriJ and Irish,
To answer your questions and sorry it took so long.  I did a 22 in. triple strand pearl necklace and had to put knots in between all the pearls.  My hands got so sore.  So I've been resting them.

No, I'm no closer to my son.  There is no way I'd live in that crowded area.  We are actually only a mile from where we were but now we're in the city limits.  And TerriJ, Yes,..I'm an artist.  Mostly jewelry but I dabble in a lot of other things too.
