Protonix/Nexium

I am currently taking Nexium (little purple pill).  I know some are taking Protonix.  Most people take this for GERD/acid reflux.  If you have had GERD/acid reflux for a long period of time, please get checked.  My mother had it for about 18 years.  She learned that it can turn into esophageal cancer.  She went to a gastro and they discovered early stage cancer.  She had to have most of her esophagus removed.  By the time most are diagnosed, it is too late.  (Sorry to be so gloomy!!!)  Please take care and get checked early.  As if we all needed something else to worry about.  But if we don't care about each other, who will??
