ANT PROBLEM, GRR!!!

Desperately need rain over here, ants driving us crazy.
Came home to have a relaxing shower at end of the working week & bath was covered in ants!!
They got their marching orders real quick.   Bath is white in colour & was a sight with moving black specks.  Placed talcum powder on window sill which is clear of ants so must have come up the drain.  Put the bath plug in for the night.
Left meat on sink to defrost the other night & you guessed it ants all over meat/sink next morning.  Hubby being an animal lover said "Let them go honey, they'll find their way back out".  They didn't get a chance of course.  Out came the powder for the window sill.
Will be outside 1st thing tomorrow placing talcum powder wherever I find the little critters.
Oh well such is life.

Lotus,  We have the same problem.  Sugar ants u say talcom powder works,  Ive been trying everything to get rid of them.  I dont like to use the sprays because of Jenna.  We just say they are part of the family lol.  But the are a pain in the butt.

Yes, talcum is great because they will not cross it.  Vinegar will kill ants too and you can wipe their "trail" with the vinegar.  The vinegar will only be effective for a day or so but it will kill the ones you have until you can get the talcum powder put at the points of entry.  Both are great all natural alternatives to the very dangerous toxic pesticides.

Rain . . . you want rain?  It's raining as I type this.  We wish the rain would go away for a while - the farmers can't get into their fields to plant crops.      The corn still isn't in the ground and it should have been in weeks ago.

I've also heard that using chaulk dust helps to keep ants from crossing the line to come indoors.  Amazing how many of those little critters can show up out of nowhere!!

This is driest May on record.  Forecasting rain all next week, hope they're correct.  Trust it stops raining for the farmers.

Talum powder works great, but make sure it's the smelly stuff...That's what drives the ants away. 

I'm having the same problem...and with having 2 cats, they love to spit food all over, so it brings the ants in in droves.

Thanks for all of the tips on keeping those ants away...I'll have to remember them the next time I have any "ant issues".
