Hello all,
I havent been around much, mostly out of frustration........is it MS, it is SJS, is it..........one could go on and on. I am having a lip biopsy today, cant wait, NOT. I am so hoping for a positive result. I know, sounds pathetic to want them to find something, but, I'm getting tired of limboland. And, seems like I'm having a flurry of doc cooperation this week! As I said in an earlier post, Dr Birnbaum at John Hopkins has agreed to review my records, and now, I get a call from Dr Thomas Leist at Thomas Jefferson and I have an appt with him next week! So, praying for answers in one of the 3 appts. I'm wondering how long the lip biopsy results will take, maybe I wont have to go to the next two appts? Wishful thinking maybe?
Will keep you updated!

Good luck with your biopsy today Cathy. Nobody wants to be sick, but sometimes being in limbo land seems worse than the diagnosis. I know that I can relate, as many on here probably can as well.

Hope your biopsy went well today and that you can get some answers soon between this procedure and your upcoming appointments.....being in limboland is NO fun!

Please let us know what you find out!

Hi Cathy,

I hope they are gentle with you.  I had mine done last week.  I sure hope it gives you the answers that you need.  I know that I just want to know so that I can move forward, and be prepared for whatever might take place in the future.  You do not sound pathetic at all, you sound like you are having a NORMAL reaction to everything going on with your health.  :)  Kellie

Cathy-

I hope your lip biopsy went well and gives you a definite answer.  It's a good bet that most of us have spent some time in limbo waiting for a diagnosis, so I know I, for one, don't think it's pathetic to want to have something.  It's not that you want to BE sick, it's that you want to know why you already are.

When I was in limbo, it was even harder than it is now, with my Sjogren's diagnosis, to get people to understand that I wasn't being lazy when I was just too tired to do something or that I really was in pain.

I hope you got an answer and that you will now be able to get treatment designed to keep whatever the tests show under control.

All my best, Tracy

Cathy,

I hope the procedure went well and that you'll get the results soon.  I don't think you're pathetic at all.  I got a diagnosis based on dry eyes (positive Schirmer's test,) positive ANA and Anti Ro of 448.  Sometimes I wish they had done a biopsy with me, but the rheumy said even if it came up negative I could still have SJS.  I hope yours will be definitive and you can move on.  I spent over a year in limbo land.  Sometimes I still wonder...

Keep us posted on how things turn out.

Thank you all for the sweet well wishes, however........no biopsy.  ::). When I made the appt, I told the nurse what and why I needed it. She said, "Ok, thats what we'll schedule you for". Well, the doc, whom I liked, and seemed very knowledge, he examined me, and then proceeded to tell me they do the biopsies under an IV sedation in the outpatient OR. Ugh! So, its scheduled for next week, on the 19th.
I told him, "Please, just do it, I dont even need novacaine! So, still waiting.
But thanks to all again. And to all you Mom's out there, Happy Mother's Day
