Humidifier - which one?

Hi,

I ma thinking about getting one for my bedroom, but don't know what to get.  Could you recommend a brand or what to look for? Smaller of poss, as our house is pretty small...

Hi Leah,

I use a personal humidifier that sits on my nightstand. I like it because I can turn the top thingy to to whatever direction I want. I think it is either a Kaz or a Hunter. The humidity is so high here in Florida that I don't have one for the house but I need one at night.

Hi Leah,

My cool-mist humidifier is by Crane.  It's a cute green frog!  (Not my first choice, but it was on sale.)  (Would be perfect for a baby/childs room too.)  Kermit (had to name him . . lol) has two spots at the top of his big bug-eyes where the mist comes out of.  I got him this past winter and I think it really helped with the dryness.  Kermit sits on my nightstand next to the bed.

i got mines in tescos online in UK, bionaire make it, got it in a sale when someone here said about it, you can change the direction on the spout of this one too which is good if in bed, and lower than the bedside cabinet, about sixe of a toaster , and holds a good amount of water, so i dont need to refill it daily, got it for about 15 ponds, and paid 4 pounds delivery

Can anybody tell me if a humidifier would work in an office environment? I work in an office with NO VENTILATION and sit close to three people with three electric heaters on!!! It is unbearably hot and dry in here with the lack of ventilation/heating/heat generated by four pcs/printers and photocopier etc.  The office is approx 20ft x 15ft...

I am trying to get my manager to get Head Office to help me as I suffer a lot at work and no one else cares!

i would say it would as mines you can direct towards you, i know my partner loves the heating on what feels to me like too hot and stuffy , but if im at my desk online, i sit my humidifer there and i get good relief, sorry the others arent considering you but as your humidifyer can be positioned to hit you directly yes it would help

Thanks.. I will help fight the good fight with Head Office then... I assume a cool mist one would be more beneficial as I am constantly hot.  Do you have to be within so many feet of it to be beneficial, or can it be positioned anywhere in the room to feel benefit?

likely in a room would help, but i found it worked best for me just a few feet away from my bed, or where i was sitting and then i felt it on my face, which is lovely , guess that would be  apersonal thing, im not sure

   Leah, my sympathy to you and your sore eyes   ( me too)  Quite honestly I dont think having any ventilator's in the room you work in would be of any help
with your eyes.

  I cannot be in any place with air vents , open windows, cool fans or anything of that kind, as it sends my eye dryness to the limit...

    I think the humidifier would be a better choice for you...if you feel the cold as bad as I do then get a warm mist one , but if the cold doesen't upset you then a cool one would be fine...
   It's just trial & error as always with this curse... Good Luck, Dolly
