I have been thinking this might be a good topic, seems many times were all down on ourselves and feel less than useful, which i just cant see is true, just how this darn illness affects us, socially, mentally and physically.

So this thread is for us to think happier thoughts, and to boost our confidence and make us think about the good things about ourselves, so your challenge, and yes i know somedays it is just that, is to post (not feeling egotistical) about some of the things we like about ourselves, our good points :)

yup sounds simple but its amazing really how few times between work, illness, kids, and general getting through the day we take time to take stock of the things about ourselves we catually like... ill go first..

I like the fact i am an openminded, non judgemental person, i dont like loud agressive ppl, but i dont care what social status you have, or religion, or sexuality, i take ppl as i find them and have friends from every walk of life, from a london music producer who drives a ferrari, to single mums struggling to make ends meet, i feel blessed to have such an ecclectic set of friends, i like that part of me who just likes nice ppl.And the fact ppl come to me to talk about things theyd not say to most ppl, simply because they wont be judged .

ok your turn !!!

That's why I stay away from people as much as I can (are doctors considered people?) and prefer the company of dogs.  Not only are they nonjudgmental, they don't even care if you stink after working in the garden, not even a wife likes that, but a dog, the smellier the better.

I try to live my life by the dog's code, if you can't eat it, hump it and if you can't hump it, pee on it and walk away!  You will never need a shrink ;D

I like that I will keep chugging along no matter how bad I feel mentally or physically.Even if my primary spot is on the sofa I will get up and do something every chance I get.
My family is most important to me and they know I won't judge them and are free to give me a call to vent anytime.

Hi there!

I really believe in Cognitive Therapy.
There is actually a site that has the worksheets and books and meditation ideas listed.
Most therapists and psychiatrists are really trying to incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy even with administering medications etc!

If yours is not just ask them about it or research on your own.

I found this - which has free journal pages etc that you can print:
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) combines cognitive and behavioral therapy, incorporating methodologies from various practices including Eastern mindfulness techniques. (not religious at all - unless you want to incorporate your higher power you can)

Am I allowed to post a site name?
http://www.dbtselfhelp.com/index.html
Looks like it is also for borderline personality disorders.
This is more for folks who don't take care of themselves or don't have good relationships.
I'm having trouble finding plain free CBT stuff.

I found digging through this lady posted everything free!  So you can read and print etc FREE.
She has a donation button too.

But I just like the positive imagery and exercises they don't address diseases at all.
The free workbook pages are all benign.  About working in a wise mind and not always in an emotional mind.  Helping one cope with the day to day struggles looks like.

Enjoy just looking and researching!

I think my best attribute...as is most of us....we can never be accused of being boring!

Example: Epsons response

It's always something new, different, and the brain fog makes for a good game of clue

in real life...without the murder.
