Thyroid panel ?---Asked for the Test...

So I got the results of my panel and it shows elevated antibodies, the thygl. ant  is 18 and the thyperoxid. ant. is 15... This was through my Allergist whom I asked to run it for me. I'm in the middle of switching to a new Rheumy this next Friday. Crossing my fingers for better luck. So anyway my Allergist was quite honest as to not knowing the extent of the results with sjogrens. I told him a lot of people on our sight have hashimotos. So is this a sign of it? Probably my Rheuhmy will help with that question. The past month I've been feeling quite good but still having lots of fingernail brittle/growing problems even on biotin. Any input would be helpful, thanks..... Kinda lost on the new site to look up old data. Can you not look under topics anymore? I've been working a lot while my husband is on cut hours so my computer time has lessened. Thanks all----Net

I don't know a lot about the elevated antibodies but I reckon the best kind of docs for thyroid are endocrinologists. A GP can run a thyroid panel test though and they should test T4, T3, TSH and ideally free T3 and free T4 as well. It is best when the TSH is mid range rather than at the top end of its range. Many people feel symptomatic if their TSH is top of its range.

Some of the symptoms of an underactive thyroid are, thinning hair, eyebrows thinned on the outside edges, weight gain but depressed appetaite, depression, dry skin, aches and pains, constipation, breaking flaky nails and fatigue.
