Hit with soccer ball

Today, Easter Monday,  we had a picnic with friends at a park.  It hasn't rained for ages & drizzled a little, but we were under cover.  A teenager was kicking a soccer ball which strayed & came in from the side hitting my right eye!!  I was stunned for a while.  So far no headache, eye  a little sore/blurry.  Hope I don't end up with a black eye as I'll have explaining to do.  Thankful my recently acquired expensive glasses weren't smashed.  Had a rest when we came home & enjoyed listening to the rain.  Autumn is on its way here in Aussieland.  Hope I haven't bored you all with my trivial little upset for the day.  Have received extra kisses & hugs from hubby!

aww lotus   glad your glasses didnt shatter! could have went in your eye, you take it easy incase you have mild concusion , hopefully you dont bruise, but if you do put some arnica cream on it, heals bruising twice as fast (homeopathic cream) , one thing after another it is, take care of yourself

Thanks, Wednesday.  It was so unexpected not one word came out of my mouth!  Have written down arnica cream in case needed.  Usually bruise easily so will see what happens.  Always get some helpful hints/advice on this site with so many nurses.  Noticed just we two were "active" a minute ago, most people must be in noddy land.

Lotus - you're right that black eyes always need explaining.  I've had one for 8 weeks since a bad fall and we've certainly had some funny looks from people, especially when my husband is pushing me in my wheelchair.  People make such assumptions, but maybe it shows that they care?

Did the teenager apologise?  Seems a bunch of flowers would be in order, but hugs and kisses from hubby are a good alternative!

Hope autumn in Australia brings more gentle weather to your poor country that's been suffering so much recently.

Lotus, hope you are feeling ok.  Totally understand the shock of it all.  I was knocked unconscious by a basketball to left eye in school in January and was completely shocked and weepy about it - not to mention 3 weeks of whiplash and physio.

lotus, more than welcome, arnica cream is also being touted as effective as ibuprofen gel her e , help imflammation and bruising, my mum has ahtritis and impingment syndrome, i bought her a tube, she is raving about the pain relief from it, i use it when the kids have a fall, and its great was a homeopath who put me onto it years ago, but tablet form, the creams i guess new, but getting alot of coverage here , works a treat, hope your feeling better and less dazed by it
