Interesting article, it seems like the author does what a lot of use do, collect information, symptoms etc. from each other.

I agree---good article. But this is the very kind of information that drives me to buy all sorts of supplements at the health food store. The website has disclaimers about the information given, true, but the "author" seems invisible, leading me to suspect the vitamin-selling, profit-motive goal. Those of us with AI and "mystery" symptoms are particularly susceptible to this type of "pitch." In the end, I believe it IS a Pitch. You could easily spend $500 buying the recommended supplements, but maybe you would still be confused (I would) and unable to really make them all work the way they should. Some may be appropriate to take and some may not----there are so many----I would not be able to sort out the information, personally.

But I bookmarked the website, too.

Oh well, my 2 cents.

Replying to my own post...

About the Spit Test for Candida (as described on the link above). If you search the phrase "Work up a bit of saliva, then spit it into the glass of water," you will find hundreds of websites using this identical phrase, along with the same .pdf illustration, a drawing of a glass of water, spit, some "strings," etc. The sites all sell supplements, ThreeLac, colon cleansers, etc. I didn't see any scientific articles. I can't believe it's that easy to "diagnose" Candida overgrowth. It is probably very common to have this saliva pattern. You would have to test hundreds of spit samples, and then do laboratory tests for Candida on those same people to determine if that method is accurate. I'm not saying that candida overgrowth isn't a real problem. but just trying to think critically about what I read on the internet. Just because people repeat the same phrase over and over doesn't make it true.

Hi Callie,
To you and any member thinking of taking supplements.  PLEASE, please inquire about them first with your doctor.  So many of these supplements can have an adverse effect on you, especially when you are taking prescribed drugs.

So please check first with your doctor before buying these.

indeed i am not saying this is not the case, and yes be very careful of what you take. And i agree that th spit test is a bit hoxy for my mind too.

What i do know is my bowens therapist whose daughter has chrons wasnt being helped by convention and was facing at 9 years old a colostomy, she went down the alternative route and the leaky gut theory, she has now been stable for 5 years, though it took time to heal .

I was in crippled pain from fibro symptoms, and i am on the candida diet, taking threelac and capricyllic acid to kill the candida, i have suffered thrush down below on and off for years and recently my tounge is white at the back, it has cleared up the thrush in both areas, and the fibro symptoms have disappeared, though die off did drop my mood and make me feel owrse first 2 weeks. Now my SJS symptoms have not ben helped by this so far, and possibly never will, but if youve felt the pain of fibro, youd know to be free of that is worth sticking to the diet.
To test my own theory i came off the diet and supplements a week and the fibro symptoms came back with avengece, got back onto it, theyre cleared again.

i dont advocate this is for everyone, and yes both my GP and rheumy know about it, and say if your feeling better, then fine.

What im also doing is eating lot of veg and eating seeds and putting powdered flaxseed on my meals, taking omega 3 6 & 9   , juicing and drinking 2/3 litres of filtered water a day , my all over swelling is gone, my bowels are working normally, and my IBS of 19 years is stbale, now i could count in two hands how many normal stools i have passed in 19 years, i suffered badly with it.My brain fog is clearing and even my typing and memory are improved, im still dry and my joints still ache though , but i had 36 fibro symptoms and they are gone.

again id say anyone considering it should check with their own doctors, but just sharing my experience
