So I'm having one of those days....the old black cloud does loomeneth again. Just seems like things are endless and trying to support our family and trying to make it to work and not getting sick. .... And now my husbands job has been cutting back and laying off  and the last 3 weeks he's worked 3 days weeks, yikes. We basically live payck to payck the way it is and credit cards feed our kids and pay my medical bills. I'm trying not to stress cuz of course only makes our disease worse but life is getting a bit scarey. Anyone else feeling this way or am I solo on this one, hope not--Net

oh your not alone, readong many posts here i know many are in your position , although our waiitng lists here in UK are pretty long, i am grateful that we have free healthcare and not have that worry .
I know when i was a single mum on a part time wage my hands were sore trying to make ends meet , its not nice, i do know we got through it , skin of teeth at times but we did .

We cant change much for you, but we can listen, rant and rave, share your fears, if it helps scream , always willing to listen here , easy to say take it a day at a time, harder thing to do, but as you say stress will compound the situation.

I know others who are in exactly your position will post soon , thoughts with you and your family, and i hope things resolves ASAP for you all , life is just one curve ball after another at times, but you are not alone

yep I'm feeling the same way. I can't work right now as I'm on modified bed rest and my husband will be losing his job at the end of June. So right after we have added another mouth to this family we will only have my income which is like 1/3 of what my husband makes unless he finds a job first which seems just about impossible. As for dr. bills I feel ya there too. Right now I go twice a week for a non-stress test and once a week to see my ob. Sigh don't even want to think about all the bills we'll be getting.

I think everyone is feeling the effects of the economy whether your out of work or have a job and wondering if you will get your pink slip on Friday.  Too bad that our major export in this country was jobs. I don't know what we would do if we didn't have good insurance, I guess i'd be walking around with a giant tumor in me ???

Hi Net,  I can say that I have many of those days now. We are in the UK,
I  myself am retired, but my son is out of work and going through a marriage break up.. he has 3 children and a bitch of an ex !

My Grandaughters husband was paid off at Christmas, this is his first time out of work since leaving school.     Of the few jobs that are advertised there are about 400 men chasing it at any one time.

The worst of it is that it will probably get a lot worse than it is at the moment ,and will probably take quite a long time before things  even start to get better world wide.. It's all rather scary worring just how bad things could get..   on top of all our  health issues..   very scary!
Hang in there anyway, good luck Dolly.

Well I can relate to what you are saying,I was just let go of after 14 plus yrs in the NYS senate.  Why because I was hired by the republicans and the democrates just took over so they are booting everyone.  And on top of that my ex has been out of work for two yrs now.  Me my body hurts and my feet burn and now I have this big bumb on my face under my eye, just got rid of the other bump on the other side of my face.  Not sure what will happen next.  I had a desk job with a air cleaner and a hunidifier and the staff was told to not were perfumes and most still were and they all new me for yrs, can't even imagine a stranger trying to understand this disease.  Now I get to try ND FIGURE HOW i WILL PAY MY COBRA ON UNEMPLOYMENT.  Thanks for listening.  I'm tired,I hurt and I need surgery.  And now of course I;m home and doing so much more and that definitly doesn't help.  My boyfriends of 10yrs says I'm just out of shape and need to excercise more LMAO Right he has no clue.  He just had a sinus drip and stayed in bed for two weeks and I kid you not. lol  Oh yeAH HE IS ALSO LAYED OFF BUT will be going back to work soon

Count me in too.

My husband lost his entire pension and all his stock (about 10 years ago he took a pay cut and got stocks instead of pay) when his company (United Airlines) went bankrupt.  The only thing left is 401K which was invested in the stock market and now cut in half.

On top of that he took a 52% pay cut.

We are living on credit and fearful there will be nothing for us when he retires in a couple years.

Honestly, I'm past worrying about flaring my Sjogren's...I'm trying not to have a nervous break down.

I'm sorry to hear that, doesn't seem fair.  I think there are so many of us in this terrible situation, and when your sick it makes you even sicker.  Since I lost my job two wks ago I seem to be hurting big time.  I am calling my doctor to see if he has something for all this pain.  This lyrica just hasn't helped me at all. I am going to clean the church tomorrow Jennalee, I will say a prayer for you.

Thankyou for sharing all your job and health black clouds too.I feel so bad for so many of you and for I'm sure a lot of you that haven't written in. Thankfully I haven't written because I am pulling extra hours while my husband has cut hours (although I joke that Walgreens isn't gonna pay our mortgage and bills)and thankfully I actually have been feeling o.k. and not terrible like my last two months had been. I'm trying to have a better attitude cuz I felt so bad the other night I actually had my twin 6 1/2 yr olds worrying and in tears. My Mom (she is in a nursing home a state away with end stage alzheimers) always said"Things will fall into place and you'll find a way". So I hoping and praying that all works out for everyone during this scarey time. I was gabbing with my Dad on the phone yesterday and he is 83 and talked of his dad losing his farm two times during the depression to the government but getting it back in the end. So wierd to be comparing that era to now. Guess that's what scares me the most is losing our home(Now that is something I just wouldn't know how to tell my girls)!! :'(Take care all and try to stay healthy--Net

If there is one thing we all have in common, it's hard times!  My husband and I (disability) are retired now and live on SS, which for us is ok as we live pretty economically.  Our daughter who is an adult and well on her own for years was laid off two months ago.  She is single and has no kids so there is no help from a husband/partner or food stamps for children etc.

She is Type I diabetic and also has epilepsy and I just can't let her go without insurance.  She is able to pay all of her stuff for her apartment and car and so we're paying out $450/month for COBRA.  It's a good thing too because she was in a store and had a seizure and was taken to the hospital by ambulance and kept for two days.  She was all by herself and didn't know what happened.  We had just left Florida that morning for a two day trip home to Michigan.  She called my sister who was in Florida - living for the winter, to come pick her up at the hospital.   My sister knew something was wrong and got in touch with her son who lives near my daughter (his cousin) and things were figured out.  She is fine now and I hope we don't have to keep up the COBRA for long.

I know this sounds selfish, but I take comfort that America finally 'gets it.'

A couple years ago a judge somewhere gave approval to dissolve our stock and retirement account which, we had invested in for more than 20 years (and could only withdraw if my husband quit the company).  Less than a month later the executives gave themselves a hefty bonus (more than 40 million) and it was revealed they had cashed their stock in shortly before the judge issued his decision (nearly 100 million more for them).

This was not covered in the news.

It seems to me, some sort of oversight should have been instituted after Enron and Tyco imploded from this same sort of thing.

Sorry for the rant.

Janna lee,

I am so sorry. These things are outrageous just knowing these facts, causes me to wonder what all goes on that we never know about.

So sorry for you and your husband. People that work so hard and make all the right decision get caught in the line of fire of greed and others huge errors.

I pray you find some blessing in this mess and please try to find peace together, strength to hold back the mental stress. They may have stole your finances but do not let them have your mental worth.

Stress can cause more harm than all this. So please try to think positive thoughts, change any thing you can possibly change. And focus on life at hand, in the moment.

Hugs and blessings kimbo

Nothing amazing here, we live in a corpratocracy, which under corporate personhood, grants the right against self-incrimination, right to privacy and the right to lobby the government, to corporations.  The same rights of a natural person.

The News media relies on money from advertisers, now why would the aerospace, defense and chemical companies advertise on TV, your not going to buy any of these items for your home?  The media does not want to lose advertising dollars, so it doesn't want to rock the boat too much or they might lose big corporate advertisers.

The lower courts have basically said the media has no duty to report truthful stories, in a law suit reporters filed against Faux News, after being dismissed for not wanting to report a misleading story about milk safety.  Money talk, everything else walks.
