This past week both of my big toes have felt numb.   Is this Sjogrens related?  Has anyone experienced this?  I always say that Sjogrens seems to effect me from the waist up so this would be a new one for me.

Hi Steve  :)

I've experienced it. Never got a doc to take it seriously - but its annoying. In my case - it's not the whole of the big toes but the inside edges of them. I wear 'sensible' shoes too - and have done for many years.

Dunno if its Sjogren's or not.

Take care - Scottie  :)

That happened to me last night... Wow... I don't know what it is.

I suspect it is Sjogrens related.  When I think of my Sjogrens "symptoms", I had some toes become numb a long time ago.  That was years before SJS however.  It doesn't cause much trouble except it adds to the cold feet.

My left big toe is numb quite a bit and has been since all of this starting happening.

here's another with numb big toes, the outsides though, weird huh? never heard mention of it before..

Hi Steve,

I've heard others mention that they have had the numbness in the lower extremities, but for me it seems to be related to how I am sitting/laying down.

Hi Steve,

I too have had numb big toes but never thought much about it and I was deffinately not going to the doctor - isn?t it wierd, maybe it does have something to do with sjs.

Many with SJS have neuropathy related issues.  (me being one for many years).  You should be evaluated by a neurologist.  Loss of feeling in the toes can cause many balance issues.  Also nerve conduction test should be run and possibly be treated to preserve maximum nerve response.  Good Luck

Billydude

Yes for me its only on the outside part of my big toes and not the entire toe.   I just happen to have a neurologist appointment coming up.

Hi Steve,

I'm glad to see that you have a neuro appointment coming up, please do let us know what he says about the numbness.

Hang in there & take care.

Steve,

I, too, get numb toes, not just the big one, although it seems to attack that one the most.  I have Reynaud's along with the SS so I kind of thought that it went along with that since my fingers are always going numb.    But it seems like a lot of us do have numb toes.
