If You Take Metoprolol..... please read

I went to refill my script for Metoloprol succinate.  Was told they are back ordered. With a little research I found out its been recalled by FDA because the pill were manufactured 'oversized' with too much medicine in them ... there are other options, I ended up with the regular instead of extended release, but pharmacist said the regular kind is 'running low' due to demand... Domino effect down to brand name,  which got bounced out of Medicare D plan.. brand name is also running low due to demand. So please check with pharmacy before you run out...

seabreeze, Thanks for the info. I had mine refilled last week and was not given any warning so must not have been in affect then. That company must have measuring spoons that aren't calibrated correctly!!!  I will call my pharm in the morning. I may not even have that generic form of the drug. Irish

I just received the FDA notice yesterday about the Metropolol.  I take the regular medication so I don't have any worries, but for those of you who take the succinate, please check with your pharmacy to make sure you don't have the one that is being recalled.
