Rheummy visit

yesterday I met with my PCP,, who was really no help since I keep coming u sero negative for Sjygrons,, then it was off to Pittsburgh to meet with a Rheummy at Falk Clinic, after going over all my paperwork,, he said I still say you have sjygrons and its in your CNS,, I have no reflexes in the lower legs,, he actually told me I am scared for you as its causing your legs and feet to go numb,, other then offering to get in touch with my other doctors and being told I prob will need to go in the hospital for massive doese of IV steroids,, he said to hang in there,, ow does oone hang in there when they can barely walk,, cant sleep at night from the tick mucos running down the throat,, and to top it off,, on the way home,, I stopped to get a bottle of water and my car wouldnt stop,, dead battery,, had to cover up wit a blanket from the trunk,, my legs were that cold,, Its so hard to believe that doctors can sometimes be so inept,, one telling you this,, another telling you tat,, it inane,,

I just read your post and have to say I feel so bad for you!!!  Sounds like a day from heck.  Do you think you should see another Dr.?
Just wanted to lend some support.

Hi Navydad

What do your other doctors say about the lack of refexes in your legs? That should point them in some diagnostic direction! I'm sorry to hear the mucous is still such a problem. Are they getting the infection under control or is that ongoing?

I so understand what you are saying about the dr issue with one saying one thing and the other saying another. You never know what to do anymore. One tells me to stop taking medicine then the next dr says no you have to go back on all the medicine you were just taken off of and all the while you never feel significantly better. I have three that contradict each other all the time and I am left in the middle to toss a coin and decide who do I really trust the most or figure it out myself. THats why I love this board so much. I have actually read things here gone back and asked about ...had them test for it and lo and behold....sure enough thats what was going on.

I am so sorry for all you going through NavyDad. You have been through more than the wringer. But maybe this new Rheumy will put these other drs in the loop and get them to understand whats going on. If they cant get on board with your treatment you need to find ones who will. You are too sick to let them keep doing things that just are not working. Its time for answers and thing things that put you back on the road to health. I wish you well with this new Dr. I know I am looking for a new Rheumy in this new year as well. Especially after the discussion I had with my Gp yesterday. My Rheumy simply isnt responding to my medical needs..legitimate medical needs and isnt monitoring meds correctly so I will be searching for a new Dr.
