kimbo-

How many pages did this turn out to be?  My printer is suffering from old age and gets cranky with long documents, but I'd really like to print it out to read again and give to my husband (who is finally accepting, after more than a decade, that I have a chronic illness).

Thanks, Tracy

Seeker, I am not sure if I printed out the same document, the one I printed out was 42 pages and that did not include the 8 figures.
I clicked on the link. Any way it seems to cover everything.

Seeker,

Luckily there are several good books on the subject. Pooh has a list:

https://sjogrensworld.org/index.php?topic=7397.msg73546#msg73546

Quote from Pooh:

The new Sjogren's Syndrome Handbook   - Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation - edited by Daniel J. Wallace, MD

The Sjogren's Syndrome Survival Guide - Teri P. Rumpf, Ph. D. - Katherine Morland Hammitt  (this excellent)

A Body Out of Balance - Ruth Fremes, M.S., and Nancy Carteron, MD., FACR  (The best I've read - it's great)

I've found all three and a few others to really help both with background and day to day issues.

collie is right. It was 42 pages.

I think  it is concise enough to make a copy for my GP. Our family Dr. of the past 26 years, I believe would be open to this information. I believe he has only a vague amount SJS knowledge. I am grateful to him, as he was instrumental in getting me to a rheumy and in turn , I received my dx in just a matter of months from my first complaints of lymph swelling and discomfort. Monthes later when I had a visit to my family dr. I realised my new rheumy had not even informed him of the positive labs and SJS DX. I could also sense that he was not very familiar with SJS. Although he is a very understanding and compassionate dr.

I have read the suggested reading SJS books also, they are very good.

Seeker, I agree this is a very good concise summary of info for those people in our lives who might not care to read a whole book, just a lot of relevant facts and info.

Oops sorry, I guess I need to do a little better job of counting.   I am glad every one appreciates the document.

Thanks for the page counts!

My husband had the very good idea of putting it on a CD and taking it and a ream of paper to a friend (along with three documents of his, of course!) and asking her to print them out and keep the rest of the paper.  I think I'll offer to throw in a printer cartridge as well.  Or we've talked about taking them to one of the office supply stores - I think they would print them out for us (for a charge, of course, but well worth it)

Thanks again - I agree that this is a good document to have for people in my life who just might not get it.
