Another cold again!

Here I am with my third head cold since the middle of September.  Of course I have all the lethargy that goes with it and that groggy head feeling.  I am trying to avoid taking anything that is a decongestant.  It may make me feel better for about an hour but the drying out side effects are causing more problems than the cold.  I haven't had repeated colds like this in years.  To think I had a flu shot too!!  Vitamin C that is suppose to help you upsets my stomach.  Any suggestions, other than living in a bubble, on how to help my immune system out.

Sorry to hear about another cold.  I hate colds more than the flu.  At least with the flu you know how long you will sick.  Maybe. 

The only thing I can tell you is to make sure you stay hydrated.  Hot tea and honey always helps me and Musinex. (not DM)

One thing I found that works well when one has a cold is garlic. Garlic kills viruses, and since most colds are caused by a virus, the garlic destroys it. I have used garlic, and I have friends who use garlic, and it seems to work. Fresh garlic works best, but pre-chopped garlic works well too. You can either take a spoonful of it or steep the garlic as you would tea, then drink the water.

I can't remember the last time I had a cold - I just don't seem to catch many contagious bugs.  I have Lupus and Sjogrens and my immune systom must be working in overtime!!  I have the usual aches, pains, and flares that go along with it, but haven't even had a cold in years.

I have been like that for years - never catching a cold.  Now all of a sudden I am catching everything that floats my way.  Just my lucky year I guess.  Tonight of course my chest feels tight.  Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Hi Sal, I use a humidifier with the Vick's stuff in it, it doesn't dry me out because its in the humidifier. I hope u feel better soon
