Another Flare Up?

I'm not sure what is happening, but I think Haley is having another flare up. She was achy, especially in her shoulders and exhausted for about 6 weeks. She had 3 good weeks now she's starting with the same symptoms. Sore shoulders and arms, feeling hot with no fever and so much fatigue. She's taking prednisone and piroxicam daily, btw.

So how often do flare ups happen? I think she's sensitive to the recent cool weather that we've been having lately. Does weather contribute as well? Of course this is happening during a long weekend, so I can't speak to her rheumy until Monday.

Hi Erika  :)

SjS just doesn't have any rhyme or reason. Some people have frequent flares - some go a long time between flares and some people don't flare at all. I remember somebody in here mentioning symptoms seemingly tied in with her menstrual cycle. There just isn't a set answer to your question I'm afraid - and of course SjS doesn't stop you from catching other stuff which can cause similar symptoms.

I think weather changes can trigger aches and pains but that's just personal.

Let her rest up and call the rheumy on Monday if there's no change.

Take care - Scottie  :)
