I got an email from my brother informing me my sister's son was in a horrible accident and is in a head trauma hosp in serious condition, the doctors do not know if  there is any permenant brain damage, he was not the driver. The next email was from my dad telling me he has had two heart attacks and several blocked arteries but doctors refuse to do surgery and if he is alive in three months medicare might allow him to have a pace maker put in. I guess the old saying is true, "when it rains it pours."

Oh Collie - I'm so sorry. You must be worried sick. It's one of those times you really hope things don't come in threes. Why won't the docs operate on your Dad?
I thought they could put 'stents' in blocked arteries now and unblock them but I'm probably wrong. I'm no medic.

I hope your nephew recovers. It must be just an awful time for his parents waiting to see the extent of the injury.

Collie, I'm so sorry about the terrible happenings in your family. My thoughts are wish you and yours, and prayers and wishes for fast recoveries for all.

I'm alarmed that Medicare gets to decide who gets a pacemaker! They are used for electrical conduction heartblock, and that is universally considered a medical emergency...pacemakers are usually placed as an urgent procedure, not an elective one!
