Netti Pot - Am I ready???

I looked back through the archives on articles about netti pots and just saw that they're now available for sale in the local supermarket chain I use.

I've been having a pretty hard time with sinus pain and pressure the last few days - no fever, no signs of infection - but I'm worried they're going to cancel my surgery in the morning because of the sinus congestion.  Now I wish I'd picked one up.

Is there a way to get the same type of cleansing results without the actual pot?  And if I can get the post, how do you use them?  I'm sure there are directions, but so often on items that don't originate in the US, the printed instructions are impossible to read and understand.

Can anyone help me????
Tracy - who wants to get tomorrow's surgery wayyyyy farrrrr behindddddd me.

Tracy-not sure what kind of surgery you're having, but hope all goes well.

Now, about the NETI-POT..my husband had sinus surgery a few months ago and I got a Neti-Pot for him.  He actually used it.  It's not hard to use.  Rather than try to explain, just read the directions.  You lean over the bathroom sink when you use the pot.  Important to have a towel handy to not mess your clothes in case it drips.

Hubby has not used it in awhile, but it sits in the closet waiting to see what winter brings for him.  I have to get out the humidifier, too.  Lucy

I used to use those blue bulbs that I think you can find in the baby section.   You just get a glass and the bulb sucks up whatever you plan to use for a cleanser and just squirt it in.  Works well.   I like to use a product called Alkalol.
