I came across a new Google Tool today called Google Health... I don't know if anyone else has seen it.  It's free and allows you to organize, gather and up-date your medical info in one place.  I immediately considered the security issues and need to read more about it... They do have an extensive FAQ's so you can get an idea of what it is about... I'm considering it...I might just start with the basics.. To find it; just google, google health...

Sea Breeze, I am not going to google this, but this sounds extremely weird.  I wouldn't want my medical info on the internet.  No way.

Also, you are entitled to ALL OF YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS from each of your doctors.  With this knowledge, there wouldn't be any reason to have or pay a third person/party to get into the mix.  I smell a rat and it's not you.  Lucy

Oh... no no no, please don't get me wrong I'm not telling anyone to go out and use this tool... I found this tool to be  interesting and posted the info for that purpose only.
Though electronic 'paperless' medical recording keeping is upon us and will eventually be the more popular, perhaps the only acceptable form of recording patient info... There are all kinds of companies out there 'selling' this type of at home software programs... I can't wait for the day that I can share data with my docs via common portals. They'll come a day when the doc sits down with his laptop at my appt, and within a day I can have his notes on my database at home...
HIPPA regulations do a pretty good job protecting patient records in any form... Again, my intent is on an informational basis only... take care all ~

seabreeze, I have seen various other tracking for medical records, but it has been so long ago and I was not interested.

I have great problems with putting medical records "online" as I personally don't believe there is any such thing as "private" when it comes to the internet. I can just imagine health insurance companies hacking into people's records for information that will affect there premiums, etc.

Granted, the computer is the best way to keep things in order up to date, but it is frustrating. Also, there have been so many times I have called a doctors office about something and they tell me they can't get at that information because the computer is down. Great way to lose all of a person's history, etc. Time will tell. Thanks for the info though. Irish ;D
