Went to the Doc

The inflammation has gotten pretty bad and i'm now in the same spot as last Christmas. can't eat without vomitting after 20 min, So because of the Addison's and I just am tired and feel pretty bad I had my hubby call the doc. I was happy to hear it was Mrs Dr, not Mr Dr. I have a tag-team practice, man and wife. She's much better. She is good but is at a loss for me which is understandable, as it could just be the sjogren's and inflammation, but she also believes it might be my liver. See I saw a liver specialist for a few years in Toronto as my rheumy there at the time noticed a blip in some blood work. The liver sp told me I had Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. something about years of prednisone use because of the Addiosn's. Then I got tired of doing the Toronto trip and asked to be referred to Kingston, a bit closer to home. The liver spec there after researching years of previous info told me that I may well have PBC but it is not active at this time and therefor i didn't need to come every 6 months for a visit. Yippy!? I think??? anyway today Mrs Dr told me it could be my liver acting up, or even gall bladder, you guessed it, more tests. Boy in the last 2 years i have been poked in every possible opening, pictures so it's a wonder i don't glow....when does it end? So can one's liver just start acting up and then get better and so on...?? Anybody else have problems with liver and sjs? Thanks Sandra

Hi Sandra   :)

PCB sometimes occurs with SjS. After you having been dxd with it, I'm really surprised that they didn't keep monitoring it. My understanding is that PCB progresses slowly.
On the other hand my SIL was being sick a lot last spring and it turned out to be her gall bladder. It was removed and she felt better than she'd felt for a long time. She doesn't mind watching what she eats as long as she feels well enough to eat at all!

I'm sorry you have to go through more tests but it does seem sensible to get to the bottom of what's going on.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Oh Sandy,

I'm so relieved they are going to figure this out.

So when your new liver guy said you didn't need to be seen every 6 months, how often did he recommend?

Wishing you immediate relief!

Sandra

that's good to know, about the connection. The new liver spe told me I would do fine just by monitoring my liver via bloodwork yearly. He said if things began to show up the problem would be revisited and probably on a more regular basis.
You know sometimes I just think that once inflammation is "invited in" it just spreads like a wild fire. I was pretty good a few weeks ago and I was able to do some careful cleaning, up and down on a step ladder a bit and stretching a bit more than I have been. So my spine became kind of tender, so i wonder if the inflammation just goes crazy once it starts?
thanks, Sandra
