I am sorry , I know this probably belongs elsewhere, but I wanted it to get as much attention as possible , because I don't know what to do.

I have mentioned before that I need all my teeth extracted and get dentures. Well, the last time I seen my rhuematologist , I was talking to him about this. He looked at my teeth and gums and said, yes it is due to the sjogren's , and because of that it seems like your major medical would pay for the extractions. I have'nt checked yet , just knowing they will say no. I don't know how to word it to them. See, my mouth hurts to even eat now. Two teeth are abscessed, and I have a swollen lump inside my lower gums between them and my inner lip. I know if I had my teeth all out I would probably not be dragged down as much.

I am broke and don't have the money on my own to get this done without insurance help. I don't have dental insurance, and there is no dental training hospital close to me to go to . I just don't know what to do . I called one health clinic in our county, and they said they only help children who need dental care.

My husband is getting ready to be cut off his healthcare insurance. He has it in appeal right now. It is a tenncare type thing. The govenor is only keeping a few people on it. Though my husband still is on oxygen everyday. So I would appreciate any thoughts you folks might have. I really could use some ideas of what I might do. I am in a lot of pain , and take ibuprophen everyday and at work trying to deal with it.

I know it can turn systemic, but I am doing the best I can. I am the only one working. I still work as a teacher. Thanks everyone for reading all this.

God Bless

I would have your rhuematologist write a letter stating that the critical condition of your teeth is due to Sjogrens.  Visit a dentist that would agree to this and have him write a letter as well to your insurance company ASAP.  They can get a pre-certification from your insurance.  I am coming across a lot of things with my insurance as far as coverage on a possible kidney transplant.  My Nephro's and Rhueme's pre-certify with my insurance what they are going to cover.  Hope this helps!  You can call your insurance company too....and don't settle with an agent.....speak to a supervisor that can help make the decision,

Take Care!
