Louisa,

Thanks for the advice!  I'll remember not to eat a pickled onion.

Love, Janna

OK.....I'll remember that!   :D

Now can you tell us why???

Lightacandle

Why, because I tried eating one for the first time since I've had my SJS symptoms and I nearly choked - it was ghastly. Mind you, it made my eyes water and that could be seen as a good thing under the circumstances...

I love this forum!! There is a perfect blend from everyone of humor, compassion, understanding, advice, empathy, suggestions...you name it!  I am so appreciative to have found you all, and to have been accepted so readily even without a specific SJS diagnosis.  If it turns out that I have something else causing these sicca signs & symptoms (amongst other things), I will continue to be a member of this forum because you all are so wonderful.

Lightacandle, I nearly choked from laughing when I read the title and your post!  Believe me, I will heed your advice.  No pickled onions for me!

I love that catch in your throat about to choke water streaming out of your eyes pickled onion experience. I eat them lots in summer with salads. Sadly however, after i have had he catch in your throat about to choke water streaming out of your eyes pickled onion experience i hve the hot burning stomach disintegrating and falling thorugh my bowel experience. That's not a good experience. But it don't stop me. Guess im a dare devil

Hi Louisa, I'm with Scottie, I do love them so!  Pickled herring is another treat for me too (I know, it's an acquired taste)! ;D

Hi Julia, thanks for reminding me that I need to go to the grocery store tonight!

You had me in tears lol. New breakthrough with dry eye just befriend Pud and you won't have dry eye again hehe. I love pickled onions & Pickled herring. Hmm brings back memories. My mother in law god rest her soul used to bring pickled herring, Chopped liver and Challah (Jewish bread) when she would visit us. But right at this very moment I have a craving for Candy Corn Yum...

Ugh, pickled onions?  I had never heard of such a thing!   :D

I only like my onions fully cooked.  But, I do love sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) and pickles.  Had some pickles on my Fuddrucker's burger this past weekend.  As close to food heaven as one can get  ;)

I've never heard of pickled onion, but it's nothing I would go near anyhow.  I've heard of pickled pigs feet.  How's that for sounding gross?  You guys are so brave.  I won't eat anything that I don't know what's mixed up in it.   Liver and onions is enough for me to leave home when my hubby cooks it (for himself).  The smell in the house is just gross.   Lucy
