Ok I am getting worried now.  I did not put two and two together before but I just went out to help my hubby plant our garden.  Felt ok when we started and the longer I was out there the weaker my legs and arms got like they were covered with cement or something.  Had a heck of a time getting up off the ground.   A couple times he had to help me.  And now am soooo tired again.   Is it possible this is Myasthenia Gravis that you talked about before Irish?????  I don't know what to do.    The new Dr. I saw cut my thyroid back because of the low TSH level but after a week I would think things would be at least a little better.  Maybe that isn't the whole problem???   There is something else lurking???   *sigh*  And I wonder what she will say when I contact her about this???   Hope she don't suggest an antidepressant.    >:(

PS Four days ago I mowed most of our front yard, which is quite large, and didn't have a problem......    :o

modistee, It is possible that it is myasthenia, but the only way to find out is to be checked. I have had it for years it turns out, but I didn't have it as bad years ago and could rest awhile and then go out and garden for several hours, etc. It slowly got worse over the years but I just thought it was age.

You said your TSH was low and she cut your thyroid meds. With the TSH number low this means that you could be getting the effects of over dosage of thyroid which is shakiness, increased pulse, insomnia, etc. I would not think that decreasing your med would cause you to have an immediate weakness---hard to tell though as we are all different.

Ask to have your acetylcholine checked and your anti-striated muscle antibodies to check for myasthenia. The muscle tests that they do don't always prove anything. Also, weakness can also run with the sjogrens also so it gets so confusing for us. Good luck and keep us posted. Irish ;D

OMG that dang weakness could be part of the Sjogrens too???  What an insidious thing Sjogrens is.   thanks for your reply Irish.  I will see if the Dr. will listen and check for the MG.

Hi Modistee,

You have received some great information from Irish (we are lucky to have her!), but I was wondering about another issue - many people with autoimmune diseases just can't handle being out in hot weather and bright sunlight. When I am out for any length of time in hot sunshine, I feel very much the way that you described.

Just another thought.

That is an interesting thought Ann.  I will keep that in mind also.  If my mind will hold it.  Some days it does not.   lol  Thanks
