The appointment with the neurologist is Tuesday to find out why my muscles are
weak. I wrote about this elsewhere. My pulmonlogist finally confirmed thru a rigorous exercise bicylcle test that my proximal muscles WERE weak...that it was not fatigue! I've waited years for this! He said it was either my heart or muscles and since heart was thoroughly tested a couple years ago we should proceed to neuromuscular specialist. An addtional piece of WONDERFUL news is that my family doctor has written aletter I can take with me along with the one from my former therapist atesting to my good mental health. I've talked elsewhere about the gereonlolgist (sp?) I saw for my thinking issues twisting and turning some history on me into some horribly mental health stuff that could make it difficult for any new doc to fully believe me. I saw my GP this week and gave him this doctors notes, my therapists AND MY typed response to her. It was too lengthy to all read on the spot since we also needed to talk about other stuff. But yesterday I got his typed letter of support in the mail to take with me. I LOVE Doctor Donald Hilliard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since Myasthenia Gravis is so treatable I kinda hope that is it. I had a job interview today and got a new job as a respite worker for mentally challenged folks. If I can get teatment I could work more than 10 or 15 hour a week.

Good luck with the neurologist. That's great that you have been given such supportive letters.

Hi Kathy,

Good luck at your neuro appt.next week.....its great that your family doctor wrote you that letter to help you out!

Also congrats are in order for your new job....doing respite care is ideal as you can adjust hours to some degree depending on what jobs are available to you!

Hi Katy,
Yep, I would hang on to that Dr. Hillard if I were you.  Sounds like a definite keeper in my book.  Those kind of doctors are few and...........................................way far between. ;D

Congratulations on getting such a caring job.  I know you will do well.

I hope with all this testing and discovery, you will finally get the treatment you need.  I also hope you get to that point where you can work more than the time you mentioned.

Good Luck with the neuro appointment on Tuesday.

Hugs, Pooh

Hi Kathy,

I'm so glad to hear that Dr. Hillard is really going one step beyond!!!  It's a shame that few doctors do that anymore, a crying shame.

And WOOHOO on your new job!!! ;D  That is the best news!!!!!!!

Take care now -

Patze
