When was it known covid vaccine could cause serious side effects?  I understand side effects can start 2 years out from taking the vaccine. Does anyone know the information on this?

Zantac.  How long did the FDA know Zantac could cause heart attacks?

Thank you.

The original vaccines, many years ago, had side effects listed, and all drugs have long lists of side effects. Since the Covid vaccine is a different approach in that it doesn't use the actual virus, either live or attenuated, as an active ingredient, the side effects were new as well, but when the first doses were released, they came with a long list of possible side effects. I remember researching very carefully before I had my first shot, how the science behind it targeted the "memory" of the immune system, and that any immune reaction might be considered a side effect. Naturally, as a person with Autoimmune dysfunction, I found this of particular importance.

The side effect that seems most concerning globally, is myocarditis (and sudden cardiac crisis). Any inflammation is immune mediated so from the beginning, there was a potential for this particular side effect, documented and included in the prescription information, at least the handout that came with mine..

I haven't seen any studies or information documenting heart attacks from Zantac, in fact most of the research papers I've found specifically state there is no increased risk or correlation between Zantac and heart disease.

A bit off topic, but when such a link was proven for NSAIDS and heart disease, many of the NSAIDS and COX2I drugs were very quickly restricted or banned, much to the discomfort of many arthritics who had taken them for years with no issue.

If you think about it from the basic premise of a "drug", it's something that alters some aspect of the body's function, response, chemistry or molecular biology, and anything that can change something in a good way has the potential to change in a bad way.

Many drugs are contraindicated in some conditions but lifesaving in others, so if you happen to have both conditions, it's a matter of choice, balance, and monitoring: risk vs benefit.

I have concerns that the vaccine wasn't tested well and there was some censorship regarding problems.

I have ITP (low platelets) and of course this was of particular concern to me. ITP is often listed as a side effect with many vaccines.

To my shock, a healthy doctor in Miami developed ITP after getting the new vaccine and no treatment would work and he died. It was profoundly shocking. His autopsy said he died of "natural causes."

Flash forward ...a friend of mine with ITP died after her vaccines . With each shot her ITP worsened and she took Rituxan treatments. At some point, the Rituxan stopped  working ...it was a gruesome passing. Same as the doctor who died. Brain bleed.

Of course...many with ITP took the new vaccines and did fine or only had minimum issues.

I also have SLE...lupus. A friend of mine with lupus got a hideous case of myocarditis after her vaccine. Needed heart surgery.

I don't know why some seem to get bad side effects and some don't.

I hope and pray for transparency and these companies are working on ways to reduce potential side effects.
SLE, Sj.  Syndrome, IC, Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia, ITP (low platelets)... Various meds and lots of vitamins. Trying to eat healthy; seems to help a little.
