Hi folks. Just wanted to tough base and see how people are doing during this bad weather  spell. Minnesota is cold but not as bad as I expected. May be worse in the morning because the wind is supposed to come up. The good thing is mosts of the kids should be on Christmas vacation so don't have to worry about travel to and from school.

Stay warm and be interesting to see if the weather man was right on his prediction. Share if you care to. Thanks. meirish

I missed this back in December.  I'm in South Texas and we had a long period of freezing temps, well 4-5 days, and we had to let the faucets drip to prevent pipes bursting.
We've had cold like this before, it's just not very often, so we all get excited and worried, ha!
Right now it's beautiful, in the 70s but the mornings are cold.
Best,
Marie

Hi Marie, I am from Minnesota and it got cold early here and December and January have been cold and snowy until about 4 days ago. Now temps are in the 230's and could be in the 30's with some rain. That will make the snow melt and make a huge mess with water running on the lawns and streets plus I noticed it was getting a little muddy yesterday. We got quite a bit of snow and had a storm every week for a while.

We have been in south conditions in much of the state so could use the rain. The other thing that has been really weird for our state is such high humidity for this time a year. It was in the 9-'s for a couple of days and 86 or so today. So damp and it just makes everybody's bones ache. Could be our age too. I live in independent living in a 100 bed senior living facility. Imagine we all ache here. In between the snow storms we have had some sunny days so that is appreciated.

We are all waiting for spring already. Seems like it has been a long winter already and with all the other crazy stuff going on it is always nice to have some nice warm weather. I know your state had a very bad episode of freezing temps and broken pipes, etc plus no electricity a couple of years ago and that is rough. It pays to be prepared for anything weather wise these past years.

Hope you can enjoy the season and get out and about. My big shopping seems to take place a Walmart most of the time lately. Enjoy going to Aldies once in a while also. Take care and stay warm and safe. meirish
