Well, I've had the surgery to remove my diseased teeth and I'm so happy I did it.  I have my temporary dentures but I haven't been able to wear the bottom ones because I've got oral thrush and it hurts too much to put the lower in.  It's very stubborn and will not go away.  The dr. put me on Nystatin liquid, but it hasn't helped one bit. Before the Nystatin I tried hydrogen peroxide, baking powder, and apple cider vinegar.  Tomorrow I pick up a script for Diflucan and I'm hoping that works.  I've heard it's hard to get rid of, but there must be a way.  I hope I'm not suffering with this crap for too much longer.  Happy Turkey Day everyone, I'm hoping for the best!

Congrats to you getting those teeth out. It is hard for many people to part with their teeth, but when a person has many issues with pain, etc and infection it is just a blessing tp get those teeth out.

Then, too bad you had to get the thrush. It may help to cut down on sugar as thrush loves sugar and it helps it grow.  I have used a lot of Nystatin swish and swallow or just swish and spit over the years and it usually helped. I would hope that the Diflucan helps. If I remember there is another oral med out now that one can use. I could be wrong....so many years of issues and treatments that ones mind starts to go.

Hope all goes well. I have had 2 sets of dentures after my first pair which usually people don't always wear too long. Depends on how good the fit is first time around. I am due for another pair now as I broke off a front tooth and dentures are 9 years old. Im in a new town now and trying to find a new dentist who will do a good job on measuring for dentures. MY old dentist was awesome. Good luck and hope you can eat the Thanksgiving dinner. Let us know how things go.  meirish
