Hubby made it through surgery.  So far there is nothing to indicate that it has gone anywhere else but is contained.  The final pathology will come out in about a week.  Surgery took about 5 hours.  He made it out of recovery maybe around 11pm.

Thank those who sent prayers.  Thank those who listened to me panic out.

Thank those who cared!!!!  Doc will keep him until he is really ready to come home.

So glad to hear!, Confused. Just a little caution though, the first few days post op can be a rollercoaster, with the second day often looking like a "bad day" or a set back, try not to worry about it. the day of surgery and into the first day, the anesthetic is still working to control some of the discomfort.

So glad that your husband got through the surgery and that things are looking good. Also want to mention that often around the third day people will have gas pains. I would suspect that this could be quite uncomfortable after this surgery. Up and walking really helps move things along. The good thing is that surgery with all the newer anesthetics and drugs is so much easier on us than it was years ago. Thank goodness. Hope you both can get some rest now that this event is over. Good luck. meirish

Thank you Irish,
This is the third day and he is pretty miserable.  However they had him up and walking from the first day after surgery.  He didn't make it out of the recovery until 11 pm as his surgery was bumped for something so he got a late start.  It was about a 5 hour surgery.
He doesn't remember calling me and saying if everyone would just leave him alone he wanted to sleep.  I have not the exact number of iv's that they hooked him up to but he counted 4 and of course they were checking him all night.  I know he walked 4 times daily and is not too happy.  This day was the worst.
Thanks Irish.  I do not think people ever think about after the surgery and they should.  Good to know this is a normal thing that happens,  I would hate to think what this surgery must have been like a number of years ago.  Hubby is lucky as he seems to be able to take most anything.
Thanks Irish.    I will say this team of doctors, nurses, etc have all been extremely good to him.  If they don't know an answer to a question they will find out asap.  Rather nice to see!
Hope you are doing well Irish. You have such good information despite all you have been through.
